Miami Marlins ace Jose Fernandez pitched like an ace for the first time in a while on Wednesday, tossing seven scoreless innings, allowing just six hits and two walks while striking out nine. He ended his night by limping off the field after the seventh inning.

Fernandez wasn't at his absolute best, but most pitchers would love to have the start he had. He got himself into and out of trouble a few times, but it was excellent to see him back on top of his game after a few rough starts. He did leave the game limping, but it was only due to a cramp according to manager Don Mattingly.
