Notes | ||
Heading into his fifth season, Anthony-Towns is coming off career-highs in points (26.5) and assists (4.4). Although he saw a slight drop in his rebounds (10.8) he still finished seventh overall. You're betting on his health being better after he's seen an increase in missed games over the last two seasons. Hopefully, the midseason addition of his friend D'Angelo Russell will help Anthony-Towns to play through some of those nagging injuries that sidelined him in 2019-2020. Dave Kluge - FantasyPros | Trae Young exploded onto the scene last year and finished fourth in scoring (29.6 points) and second in assists (9.3) per game. His 205 made three-pointers were sixth-most in the league and he did it at a 36.1% clip. If he's able to improve his shooting heading into his third year, there's no reason to expect him to finish outside the top-three in scoring. Dave Kluge - FantasyPros
Towns was on pace for a massive fantasy season last year before nagging injuries sidelined him for the majority of the winter and spring. He averaged career-highs in points per game (26.5), assists per game (4.4), and most impressively, three-pointers per game (3.3). He also adds enough blocks (1.2) and steals (.9) to be considered one of the best all-around contributors in the NBA, something that isn't easy to find at the center position. Aaron Larson - FantasyPros | The Atlanta Hawks spared no expense this offseason in putting an extremely formidable team around second-year All-Star PG Trae Young. By adding guys like Bogdan Bogdanovic and Danilo Gallinari, the Hawks are signaling to their young core that they are going all-in to surround them with the talent they need to succeed as early as this season. Last season, Young budded into a superstar right in front of our eyes, finishing fourth in scoring (29.6 ppg) and second in assists (9.3 apg), trailing only LeBron James in that category. While the scoring numbers could come down with a plethora of options to put the ball in the basket, it's not out of the realm of possibility that Young averages over 10 assists per game this season. He's also only missed a total of eight games in two seasons. In a world of "DNP-rest," Young is as safe as they come in the middle to later part of the first round in 2020-21. Adam Koffler - FantasyPros
While fantasy managers might remember Towns' 2019-20 season primarily for his missed games, he actually had a monster season. KAT averaged career highs in points (26.5), assists (4.4), and threes (3.3) while pulling down at least 10 boards for the fifth straight season. As long as he's healthy for the 2020-21 season, he should be an easy top-5 selection in both points and category leagues due to his tremendous stat-stuffing abilities. Zachary Hanshew - FantasyPros |
