J.J. Barea gets the start, scores 18 and dishes out 8 dimes in win

by Adam Koffler | Mavericks Correspondent | Mon, Aug 10th 7:38pm EDT

J.J. Barea started for the resting Luka Doncic and didn't disappoint in 26 minutes. He scored 18 points (7-13 FG, 2-4 3PT, 2-2 FT) with two rebounds, eight assists, and two turnovers in a 122-114 win over the Jazz.

Fantasy Impact:

Barea hadn't been getting very many minutes since play resumed, but he made the most of his 26 minutes tonight in place of Doncic. On the year, he's averaging just 7.2 points and 3.7 assists in 15 minutes per game, and he's likely headed back to the bench when the Mavericks take on the Trail Blazers Tuesday.
