Jordan Hawkins totaled 25 points (8-17 FG, 5-12 3PT, 4-5 FT), six rebounds, three assists, and one steal in the Pelicans’ 105-100 loss to the Jazz.

Fantasy Impact:

Hawkins dropped 25.0 points in the Pelicans' loss to the Jazz, putting up his strongest scoring performance since his 25.0-point game against the Mavericks on November 14th. Hawkins is a talented offensive player who has the potential to profile as an elite guard on any given night. However, his lack of consistency, limited production across other performance categories, and a crowded backcourt could significantly limit his appeal. The odds of him getting anything close to 40.0 minutes a night is slim to none, and with the presence of a more experienced and balanced Jose Alvarado, the upside that he has exhibited could be even more challenging to realize should his time on the floor diminish. The Pelicans appear to be trying to figure out the best way to leverage the talents of their backcourt; this could make rostering Hawkins a risk unless you are playing in a deep league format. Keeping him on your radar may be best until things are sorted out in season-long and daily formats. Hawkins has a usage rate of 18.5 percent, a plus-minus of -2.0, and is averaging 29.1 minutes, 13.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 0.6 steals per game while shooting 39.3 percent from the floor and 36.4 percent from beyond the arc.
