Caleb Martin totaled five points (1-3 FG, 1-1 3PT, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, and one steal in the Heat’s 115-106 win over the Magic.
Fantasy Impact:
Martin scored 5.0 points in the Heat's win over the Magic, putting together another lowly scoring performance that has been, for the most part, uncharacteristic of his play as of late. With Tyler Herro back in the picture, it looks like the entire team will have to adjust their style of play to accommodate his aggressive play. Things will take some time to shake out, but with Martin's play time seeing a regression, we could see his fantasy appeal diminish significantly in the short term. There is still a chance that he will retain his value, but he could have difficulty doing so if he cannot aggressively assert his game. The Heat have the Hawks next, who rank 28th in opponent points, 16th in rebounds, 28th in opponent assists, 19th in opponent steals, and 24th in opponent blocks. We should see Herro take advantage of an offensively friendly environment in a pace-up game. Still, we could see Martin do the same while also being able to produce value in other categories as an understated multi-categorical contributor. If looking for a "Hail Mary" for cross-categorical contribution, Martin could be worth a play in season-long leagues on Friday; if it were not for his inflated price point, he could've been an intriguing play in daily formats. Martin has a usage rate of 20.0 percent, a plus-minus of 1.1, and averages 27.0 minutes, 11.6 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 0.8 steals, and 0.2 blocks per game while shooting 44.3 percent from the floor, 37.1 percent from beyond the arc, and 67.6 percent from the free-throw line.
