Derik Queen has been ruled out for Friday's game against Portland after failing to clear his questionable tag, according to Will Guillory of The Athletic. The rookie first-round pick will miss the contest due to a quadriceps issue. (Will Guillory)

Queen is expected to carry a day-to-day designation moving forward. With the young big man sidelined, the Pelicans could lean more heavily on Yves Missi and Kevon Looney to fill the frontcourt void against the Trail Blazers.
