It's the end of an era in Pittsburgh. Troy Polamalu walks away from football at 33-years-old. The Steelers had been quietly urging Polamalu to retire so they wouldn't have to cut him. In his 12 seasons with the Steelers, Polamalu logged 8 Pro Bowls, 2 Super Bowls and snagged Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2010. He's likely headed to the NFL Hall of Fame after a brilliant career full of fearless highlights.

Running Back Stevan Ridley has signed a 1-year deal with the Jets.

Defensive End Muhammad Wilkerson didn't show up to day 1 of the Jets "voluntary" offseason workout and conditioning program. Wilkerson is going into the final year of his deal and his option is worth $6.9 Million which may not be good enough for him without a long-term deal.

The Jets are bracing for a QB competition between Geno Smith and Ryan Fitzpatrick but according to Jets head coach Todd Bowles they want to add another QB to compete. During a conference call with season-ticket holders Thursday, Bowles said: “Ryan is going to compete, as well as Geno is going to compete, and we hope to add somebody else to compete with them...”

The Steelers announced Sunday that James Harrison will be back for his 12th season in Pittsburgh. Harrison has been signed to a 2-year deal.
