Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints agreed to contract restructuring on February 6, 2021. The revised contract will save the Saints approximately $24 million in cap space they desperately need, as they have one of the worst cap situations in the league this offseason.

Joe Buscaglia from the The Athletic expects the Bills to release veteran wide receiver John Brown who is due to make $9.53 million next season. Doing so would save Buffalo $7.93 million.

Consensus #1 overall selection Trevor Lawrence will throw in front of NFL teams on February 12, 2021, after which he will have surgery to repair his left labrum in his shoulder. Lawrence has ruled out throwing at Clemson’s pro day in March.

On February 1, 2021 the Colts and J.J. Nelson agreed to a futures/reserve contract. After four seasons with the Cardinals Nelson has bounced around the league with the Raiders, 49ers and Bills, only appearing in two games in the last two seasons.

On February 4, 2021 Cole McDonald signed a reserve/futures contract with the Arizona Cardinals. McDonald was a 7th round selection by the Titans in the 2020 NFL Draft, but was released by Tennessee on August 19, 2020. Subsequently he had a workout with the Panthers on August 23, but was not signed. During the fall season he played with the Conquerors of the Spring League.

After multiple workouts with Texans earlier this week C.J. Prosise has signed on with the Houston Texans practice roster.

Brown was released by the 49ers on Wednesday, only one week after signing with the team on August 20th. He was released after San Francisco signed former first round pick Kevin White.

Chris Carson returned to Seattle's training camp on Sunday. He had been away from the club for a couple of days dealing with a death in the family. His return is timely in that the first padded practices will take place on Monday.

John Reid of the Florida Times-Union reports that Shenault has been impressing his teammates with his play-making ability. Specifically, Gardner Minshew has been impressed with his athleticism, route running and catching ability, saying, ''Laviska is a freak, man. I knew it when we played him at Colorado. He’s a lot better route runner, a lot better at catching the ball than I even expected.''. John Reid also mentioned that Laviska has been leaning on D.J. Chark at training camp as he works to build chemistry with Gardner Minshew.

On August 4th Travis Benjamin announced that he had decided to sit out the 2020 season for the health of his family.
