The Basics

How do I edit player ranks?

Simply drag-and-drop the player. Click and hold the player’s row and then move him to the rank spot you desire.

How many players do I need to rank?

You are free to rank as many players as you would like, but the minimum requirements for our accuracy competition are displayed in the Dashboard. Providing deep rankings also gives you an opportunity for more exposure on our site.

How do I add/remove players?

To add a player to your rankings, find him in the list of Available Players and drag him into your rankings list. To remove a player, drag him out of your rankings and into the Available Players list.

How do I add tiers? (coming soon)

When your mouse scrolls over your rankings, you will see a link to “Add Tier” between player rows. Click on the link to add a tier. Click on “Remove Tier” to delete the tier.

When should I Save?

You should always save your rankings after you’ve edited them. Saving must be done for each set of rankings that you edit. Please note that “Saving” does NOT publish the rankings into our system or onto your website (if you are using our Embed Code for publishing).  To publish, you must “Publish Rankings” from the Dashboard.

When should I Publish?

You should Publish your rankings when you’re ready to make your saved rankings go live in our tools and on your site (if you are using our Embed Code). Publishing is global – all your saved rankings will be published into our tools (please note that there is up to a 1-hour delay on when they will show up). To publish your rankings, just click on “Publish Rankings” from the main Dashboard tab.

How do I get my rankings to show up on my site?

You can use our cut/paste Embed Code to automatically publish your rankings on your site or blog. All your future revisions will be automatically reflected on your site, which will save you a lot of time and effort. Alternatively, you can export your rankings to Excel and publish them on your own.

How often do I need to update the rankings?

There is no set requirement for frequency of updates. However, we all know that old rankings reflect poorly on the quality of advice being provided. We hope that our simple drag/drop system makes tweaking your rankings as painless as possible. At a minimum, we would recommend that you update your rankings after any significant player news is announced.

What scoring settings should I assume?

You can view our Standard and PPR scoring settings here.

How do I enter the accuracy competition?

You are automatically entered into our accuracy competition as long as you meet the minimum requirements. Please be sure to update and publish your rankings before our accuracy deadline. More details can be found here.

The Rank Converter – New for 2012!

What is the Rank Converter?

We help you produce more rankings with less time and effort. Our algorithm – The Rank Converter – takes your personal positional rankings (Standard scoring) and generates our best guess of what you would like to have for your:

  • Overall Standard Rankings (mixed positions in one ranked list)
  • By Position PPR Rankings (RB, WR and TE rankings for PPR leagues)
  • Overall PPR Rankings (mixed positions for PPR leagues)
  • Flex Rankings from your RB, WR and TE rankings (for in-season, weekly rankings only)

How do I use it?

The Rank Converter works automatically behind the scenes, so using it is simple.

  • Be sure to always make your rank revisions in your Standard by-position rankings first. Save the changes for each position.
  • The Rank Converter will then create Overall and PPR rankings for you and notify you (on the Dashboard) that they are ready for your review.
  • Have a look at the rankings and edit them through drag/drop if you disagree with any of the results. Be sure to save the rankings even if you do not make any edits.
  • Once you’re satisfied with all your rankings, click on “Publish Rankings” from the dashboard to get your full suite of rankings into the system.

What logic is being used to convert the rankings?

Our Rank Converter algorithm leverages three sources of data to convert your standard positional rankings into Overall, PPR, and Flex (in-season only) rankings:

  • 5 years of historical performance (including trends) on fantasy point production at every rank spot.
  • Current consensus projections and rankings from all the expert sources we track.
  • Your standard positional rankings so we know how you personally value the players within the baseline scoring system.

Our proprietary system then calculates how we believe you would rank the players within the new type of rankings. More specifically:

  • We apply a unique “PPR % lift” for each player that generates your PPR Rankings. Ray Rice will get a much bigger jump than Michael Turner.
  • We apply a unique positional rank template and pull from your positional rankings to generate your Overall Rankings.
  • If you edit the PPR or Overall rankings that we generate for you, our system will try to learn your preferences so that future conversions more closely match your expectations.

What if I don’t agree with the conversion results?

No problem. Just drag-and-drop the players into the rank spots you desire. Our system will actually learn your preferences and try to do a better job of converting your rankings the next time you make edits to your Standard by-position rankings.
