Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
From Weeks 1-8 last season, Russ was the QB1 in all of fantasy football. However, from Weeks 9-16, Wilson fell all the way to the QB12. As the offense was figured out by opposing defenses, Russ wasn't able to sustain the success that they had seen in the first part of the season and he was an inconsistent fantasy asset over that time period. Moving into 2021, the Seahawks have made a change at OC that should help relieve some of the pressure off of Russ to carry the entire offense, which can only mean good things for fantasy football. Fantasy managers became frustrated with Wilson's performance over the back half of last year and that's playing a role in their perception of him now, but he should get right back to performing at a very high level again in 2021. He's worth drafting as a top-6 option again with overall QB1 upside.Rodgers had a ridiculously high TD rate last year of 9.1%, which was up from 4.6% in 2019. While it's natural to expect that average to come down this season, it's still the same supporting cast and system that Rodgers had last year. He still has Davante Adams to throw to in the red zone and Robert Tonyan emerged as a reliable receiving option as well. While we shouldn't expect 48 touchdowns from him again this season, he could easily eclipse 35 touchdowns in 2021. If that's the case, he's a fine investment at his price point.

Let Russ Cook! I was completely wrong about him last year and I got burned. I thought the Seahawks were going run heavy and they let him air it out. That was the knock on him. His offensive scheme was too run heavy. It was never his talent. Seattle brought in a new offensive coordinator, Shane Waldron, from the Rams, so any worries about Brian Schottenheimer going back to the run are gone. The main concern- can the offensive line protect him? Wilson complained openly about getting hit too much. If they can, Russ will serve up plenty of fantasy points for hungry owners.Rodgers is back and the Packers offense is off life support. This ranking is solely about the respect I have for Rodgers. He's one of, if not, arguably the best QB to ever play in the NFL. He's the most accurate QB on the run I've ever seen. Aaron has pinpoint precision. He had a career year in 2020. The odds are his stats probably go down a bit. However, the major concern, and it's a big one, is can the Packers o-line protect him? All pro LT David Baktiari tore his acl in late Dec 2020. it's unlikely he returns, either in time, or as effective as last year. All-pro C Corey Linsley signed with the L.A. Chargers in free agency. That's 2 all-pros and 40% of the Packers offensive line in doubt. The good news is State Farm probably hooked up Aaron with some decent life insurance as gratitude for all of those commercials he's done for them. Rodgers! Discount double check!

The fact that Wilson has finished as QB6 or better in five of the past seven seasons gives him a very nice fantasy floor. And while it already feels as if we've seen the best from him, given last year's "Let Russ Cook" joy ride turned debacle, I'd argue that there's still another gear that he can hit. Playing for a Pete Carroll team will always lead to concerns over running the ball too often, but new OC Shane Waldron comes from the Sean McVay coaching tree. Seattle might run a good amount this year, but so do the Rams, and an efficient rushing attack will help set up those deep shots that Wilson loves taking. Only now they'll be better looks.10 years ago, Rodgers would be going as a top-three quarterback in fantasy football. Our game has grown sharper since then, however, so we can easily point towards his unsustainable touchdown rate from 2020 (9.1%) and know that regression is coming. Here's the thing, though. Rodgers isn't going as a top-three fantasy QB. He's available in the QB7-9 range of drafts. After years of operating as an out-of-structure gunslinger under Mike McCarthy, Rodgers finally embraced Matt LaFleur's system. The results were fantastic, and while he won't keep playing at as high of a level in 2021, he's a fantastic late-round QB option.

With his playing status no longer in "Jeopardy!", Rodgers should get right back to his brand of efficient gunslinging football in 2021 his "Last Dance" season. Will he reach his 9.1% touchdown rate he notched last season? Probably not. He'll still be wildly efficient and accurate, the Packers will score a ton of points, and will be because of #12. He's a perfect quarterback to grab in fantasy drafts after the Wilson/Herbert tier comes off the board.

Why is Wilson continually hated by the fantasy community? His late-season struggles last year have many avoiding him in 2021, though you shouldn't be one of those people. Over the course of his career (now 144 games), he's posted top-12 type numbers in 50.7 percent of his games, which ranks sixth among quarterbacks who've started 50-plus games since 2000. That's a better career mark than Drew Brees, who was continually drafted as a top-three quarterback during his prime. Wilson has never finished worse than QB11 and has finished as a top-three quarterback in four of the last seven seasons. He's as stable as they come.I was all aboard the value train with Rodgers last year, but now that he's coming off his 2020 MVP campaign, he's going to be drafted higher than I'm willing to go. Why? His touchdown rate was 9.1 percent in 2020. Every quarterback who's ever finished with a touchdown rate of 8.5 percent or more has regressed the following season. If we dial that number back to Rodgers' career mark of 6.3 percent, which is still elite, he would've finished as the QB10 instead of the QB2 that he did. He doesn't offer mobility anymore and his offense isn't what we'd describe as "pass heavy." Don't forget that many left him for dead after the 2019 season when he posted QB1-type numbers just 31.3 percent of the time. There's probably an in-between here, but that's the issue: I'm unwilling to pay for last year's performance. In reality, he's a safe QB1 who requires an ultra-high touchdown-rate to finish top-five. The same can be said about Tom Brady, who is likely to come a few rounds later in drafts.

Packer Report
Aaron Rodgers had a career year in 2020 throwing for 4,299 yards and 48 TDs which led to him winning his 3rd MVP award. Not only will Rodgers have superstar WR, Davante Adams to rely on, but the Packers also traded for former Packers WR, Randall Cobb giving him the slot WR he needed. I expect another huge season from Rodgers.

If new OC Shane Waldron is the real deal + pushes the pace & passing rate like camp reports suggest, Russ could be THE QB1 in 2021Could go ballistic chasing records in his likely last year in GB

Wilson really regressed in the second half of the season. In games 1-8, he had 236.1 fantasy points or 29.5 points per game. In games 9-17, he had 136.5 fantasy points or 17.1 fantasy points per game. Wilson is still 32-years old and in his career prime, but he can't be considered an elite QB1. Hopefully a new offensive coordinator will help with the consistency issues that plagued the offense in 2020.The big question is will he play in Green Bay. It looks like there is going to be a standoff between Rodgers and the GM and landing spot will impact his 2021 fantasy ranking. For now, he is an elite QB1 coming off a MVP season playing for one of the best offenses in the NFL.

FantasyPros
For the first nine weeks of the season Russell Wilson, averaged 29.5 pts per game. After that, Wilson averaged just 17.5 pts the rest of the way, killing his MVP candidacy and many fantasy playoff hopes as well. Wilson is a steady presence, despite the down ending in 2020. He should be a lock for 4+K yards and around 35 TDs. The notion the Seahawks were shopping him seriously this offseason is laughable. The franchise QB isn't going anywhere. Last season, Wilson's rushing yards went back above the 500 mark, and his 42 combined passing and rushing TDs were a career-high. At 32, Wilson is in his prime and is an excellent redraft or dynasty investment. D.K. Metcalf's emerging star, coupled with the familiarity of Tyler Lockett, a returning Chris Carson, and an exciting slot WR option drafted in D'Wayne Eskridge, should keep Wilson high on the fantasy QB scale again at season's end. He could be the best return on investment in the position.Aaron Rodgers had an elite level season, but at 38 this year, it's better to think of him as just a hair behind that top 5 group. He threw for a league-high 48 TDs and just five picks while posting 4,299 yards passing and 387 fantasy points. Everything broke right for Rodgers in 2020. Well, except for the NFC Championship game. Oh, and the fact he's "disgruntled" with the organization. It's important not to lose sight of the fact that Rodgers threw for 25 TDs in '18 and 26 TDs in '19. The 48 seems like a pretty colossal outlier at this stage in his career. He had a three-week period where he threw for 15 TDs. Rodgers will give you consistently solid QB play and is still a reliable, upper-tier QB in fantasy. It would be foolish to bid on 2020 as though it was repeatable. Davante Adams had a lot to do with Rodgers' success. If Adams should suffer any injury again, Rodgers' value would immediately take a massive hit. This is the significant difference between Rodgers and a QB like Matt Ryan, who has more weapons at his disposal. For the second year in a row, Green Bay failed to bring in a complementary WR of note, although bringing back Aaron Jones is beneficial to the offense.

The #LetRussCook movement seemed to have worked because the Seahawks finally let go of the run-centric Brian Schottenheimer at OC and brought in Rams pass-game coordinator for the last 4 seasons, Shane Waldron, to take his place. We have seen Jared Goff thrive under his watch but we've also seen run-centric offenses in LA. If Russell Wilson is finally unleashed, he could finally have the top-3 fantasy season everyone has been waiting for.A pissed-off Aaron Rodgers is a great Aaron Rodgers, and boy does he seem angry. It's hard to rank Rodgers at this point, not knowing if he will still be a Packer in Week 1, but wherever he ends up, he is going to have a chip on his shoulder the size of a Green Bay wheel of cheese. I'm going to be betting on that a motivated Rodgers, just like I did last season.
