Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It was right to be a bit hesitant about Thielen last year, as it was going to be tough for both him and Stefon Diggs to be top-15 options. Fortunately, he and Diggs each saw at least 150 targets allowing both of them to finish as top-10 options. They didn't add anyone to take targets away from them, outside of rookie tight end Irv Smith Jr., and we all know not to expect much out of rookie tight ends. It is worth noting, though, that after his hot start, Thielen was the WR23 from Week 9 through Week 16It was good to see Cooper go to Dallas and get consistent targets as that's something he was missing throughout his time in Oakland. He saw at least five targets in each of his nine games with the Cowboys, while seeing seven or more targets in 7-of-9 games. Because of that, he finished as the No. 4 wide receiver in fantasy from the time he joined them, behind only Antonio Brown, Davante Adams, and Julio Jones. He may not offer the consistency that those guys do, but not many do. Cooper should be on the low-end WR1 radar
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
He was shot out of a cannon in '18, with 8 straight 100-yard games - have to worry about how much OC change (to curb pass game) impacted his final 8 games, though (56 rec. YPG)You have to like what you saw from him in DAL - in 11 games, counting 2 playoff contests, he caught 66 passes for 896 yards and 7 TDs - dealing with heel strain, but apparently it's something he's managed to play through in the past
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Thielen was utterly electric for most of the 2018 season, ripping off eight straight 100-yard games and scoring touchdowns at will. And although he finished with an impressive 113 catches, like Stefon Diggs, his production dropped off significantly at the end of the season. If the Vikings focus on the run more like they did in their last few games, then Thielen will have a hard time producing much more than low-end WR2 numbers. But chances are that with Gary Kubiak on board as an adviser, Minnesota will get a bit more creative with their offense. Given what Thielen showed over the first half of last season, he should be considered a high-end WR2.Cooper was dynamic after a mid-season trade to the Cowboys and, absent injury concerns, he'd be a solid WR1 this year. But he has battled a foot injury all preseason, which has alternatively been referred to as plantar fasciitis, a strained heel, and a muscle strain. Whatever the injury is, it's clearly still bothering Cooper, and it's unclear if his availability for the Cowboys' first game is questionable. For now, fantasy owners should drop Cooper a few spots in their rankings. But don't let him slip too far absent word that his availability for the regular season is in doubt.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
In 2017, Cooper scored 52% of his fantasy points in just three games (most). In 2018, Cooper scored 52% of his fantasy points in just three games (most). @ScottBarrettDFB Cooper has been dealing with plantar fascia irritation which has caused him to miss practice and the Cowboys last two preseason games. This is something that could linger and affect practice time but should not affect meaningful games. There are ways to get players thru game day. @ProFootballDoc
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Thielen has put up 1277 and 1373 yards the last two seasons, respectively. He also has 12 total TDs over that span, doubling his output from 4 to 8. He was fourth in the league in red zone receptions in 2018, so 8 TDs can certainly be reached again. Super safe pick.Yes, Coop was a stud with Prescott looking at the surface numbers, but look close and see that it was regular ol' Coop. In 9 games with the Cowboys, Cooper put up single digits 4 times, under 15 7 times, and two monster games where he put up around 35 and 45. The inconsistencies continued.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Even though his teammate Diggs managed over 100 receptions, Thielen posted 113 to go with a career-high 1,373 yards and 9 scores. There is room for both of them to finish as top 12 fantasy wideouts seeing that the rest of the receiver corps is barren. Their upside is limited, however, unless one goes down with an injury.Cooper has put up some historical numbers to start his career despite playing in an awful offense that refused to throw him the ball. It was no wonder he exploded with a new offense and better quarterback despite learning the playbook on the fly. The ceiling is enormous in his first full season with Dallas but there is also quite a bit of unknown too, particularly his plantar fasciitis.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Thielen was the 7th ranked fantasy wide receiver with 113 receptions for 1,373 yards and 9 touchdowns. He should continue to be a WR2 with QB Kirk Cousins behind center, but the Vikings commitment to the running game at the end of the season may take away the targets Thielen needs to be a WR1.Cooper was a great addition to the Cowboys passing offense, but he is a little hit or miss in their run-heavy scheme. He is a low-end WR1 that should see a ton of targets in the passing game.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Amari Cooper's career high in TD's is 7. He's passed 1100 yards once. He's passed 75 catches once. He played 9 games for Dallas and put up FOUR games in which his stat line was less than or equal to 5/36/0. And you want to take him in the third round?
Kyle Yates
The Fantasy Footballers
The Vikings are going to have a new dedication to running the ball this season, but that doesn't mean there still won't be massive opportunities for Thielen in this offense. Kirk Cousins and Thielen clearly have chemistry together and there's no reason to doubt Thielen's ability to repeat as a Top-12 WR next season.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
It was really a tale of two seasons for Thielen in 2018. He started the year with 8 consecutive games of over 100 yards, averaging a stat line of 9.25/116/0.75. Over the final 8 games however, he had just one 100 yard game, averaging a stat line of 4.9/56/0.4. Theilen was the top scoring WR by 37 points over the first 8 games, but was just the WR 26 over the second half, ranking behind Zay Jones, Mohamed Sanu and Adam Humphries. So which version of Thielen will we see in 2019? Probably something in the middle. My projections love him. They have him with just under 100 receptions for around 1,400 yards and 7 TD's. If he can put together a season like that, then he's going to be well worth his late second round ADP.I love Amari Cooper this season. He's finally out of Oakland, and in a place where he can see consistent volume. Dak Prescott is by no means an elite QB, but he's a big upgrade from Derek Carr. In the 9 games after being traded last season Cooper averaged 6/80/0.67. He was used in all areas of the field, and he showed his weekly upside with 2 games over 180 yards and 2 scores. He did all of this after being traded in the middle of the season. Receivers usually struggle when they change teams during an offseason, so the fact that he was able to produce right away is incredible. After a full Summer to train with the team, I expect Cooper to have some monster games this season. I'd be very excited to get Cooper in the third round. That's the point in the draft where you should have locked up two stud skill position players already. So capturing the weekly upside of Cooper on top of that is a no brainer.
