Elliot Berkovits
Pack to the Future
Unlike his fellow Bucs WR Chris Godwin, I see the switch from Winston to Brady as a slight downgrade for Evans. With Winston at QB, Evans was known for being a deep threat and someone who would get plenty of 50/50 type balls. I don't expect that to continue with Brady at QB. That being said, it should make Evans more consistent even if it lowers his ceiling a bit.Even while catching balls from Mitch Trubisky, Allen Robinson was a legitimate stud in 2019 catching 98 passes for 1,147 yards and seven TDs. Now, he may get an upgrade at QB with Nick Foles in Chicago. Similarly to many players, COVID will impact his ability to work with his new QB but once they get on the same page, we could see a more dangerous Robinson than ever.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Evans has now finished as a top-10 receiver in 4-of-6 seasons with the Bucs, but will he lose some of his massive target totals from years past? Evans has continually been peppered with targets by Jameis Winston, as he was willing to trust the receiver in jump-ball situations. Tom Brady isn't a risk-taker, as evidenced by his low interception totals. With the ascention of Chris Godwin, arrival of Rob Gronkowski and Keshawn Vaughn, and likely declining pass attempts in the Bucs offense, Evans may lose some of his top-end upside, though he should still remain in the low-end WR1 conversation. The Bears offense revolves around Robinson, plain and simple. They didn't fix the offensive line, which means running the ball will be difficult again. They also didn't replace Taylor Gabriel's 5.6 targets per game that he was receiving under Matt Nagy with anyone noteworthy in the draft or free agency. There's a realistic scenario where Robinson sees 150-plus targets this year. If you want to go RB heavy in the first few rounds, Robinson could make for a solid low-end WR1.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
QB Brady is still throwing a decent deep ball, which should help one of NFL's premier power forward receiving targets top 1,000 yards for a 7th straight seasonWas the lipstick on Bears' piggish offense in 2019 with Top 10 WR finish in FAN PTS - sounds crazy, but Foles arguably best passing QB he's ever been paired with
Seth Miller
Crossroads Fantasy Football
If anything, haven't we learned that it doesn't matter what position you play if you're talented? Brady's used Cooks, Moss, Edelman, Gronk.. I had a stat that I didn't know what to do with in Godwin's notes that is also obviously relevant here. Evan's reliance on the deep ball is over stated. Not only on counting stats, but also behind the scenes in reception perception. Mike Evans is good at separating against man and press coverage and while he's elite at contested catches, that doesn't have to be his game. We should stop knocking an all around good WR for being exceptionally good on deep balls.Never had fewer than 5 targets in any game. Super consistent despite the QB play.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Evans had 1,157 yards receiving and eight receiving touchdowns as the deep threat in this offense. He is probably the player most hurt by the acquisition of QB Tom Brady, Brady has always been more about short passes and his arm strength was suspect at the end of last year.Robinson was the lone bright spot in the passing game, finishing 2019 with 1149 yards from scrimmage and 7 touchdowns. I think whether Nick Foles or Mitchell Trubisky is the starter, he is a WR2 capped by a dicey QB situation.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Evans could see a slight step backwards with Tom Brady behind center now, but he's still going to be incredibly productive. Brady can still air the ball out downfield and those targets are incredibly valuable for Evans' fantasy production. Brady's going to learn to trust Evans early on and he'll see plenty of targets this year. Evans should be a consistent WR2 option all season long with upside. There are very few players that we can claim who could finish as the No. 1 overall fantasy WR this season. Robinson is one of those players with his skillset and the offense that he's in. If Nick Foles is the starting QB, this offense is going to be able to move the ball more effectively than they did last season, which means even more scoring opportunities and targets for the receiving options. Anthony Miller is Robinson's only real threat for targets in this offense and Robinson was incredibly productive last season with Mitchell Trubisky throwing him the ball. Robinson saw 154 targets and 98 receptions in 2019 and there's a possibility we see that number go up this year. Don't miss out on drafting Robinson, especially when you factor in his ADP right now.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Mike Evans turned in his sixth consecutive 1000 yard season despite playing just 13 games and passing 100 yards on only three occasions. He once again mastered the blow-up game with each of those big games topping 180 yards and 30 half-ppr fantasy points. In best ball that makes him a great option but in redraft it makes him a terrifying weekly play if you draft him too early. That aspect locks him into his third-round price tag... or does it? Tom Brady is now in town and Evans could well benefit more than most realise. Brady still has a good deep ball and likes to unleash it on rare occasions when the receiver is good enough. Evans is always good enough. I like his upside but be wary of his weekly variance.Allen Robinson turned back the clock in 2019, parlaying his first healthy season in three years into a WR11 finish. The most impressive aspect of his effort was the volume he received, with 18 more receptions than his breakout 1400 year sophomore season. While the emergence of Anthony Miller may threaten that volume, the release of Taylor Gabriel should mean A-Rob is locked into 150-odd targets. Given the possible positive efficiency regression if this offence takes a must needed step forward, Robinson is a real chance for a massive season. He's great value in the early 3rd round but can be taken even later than that.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
What he loses in volume will be offset with accuracy. He got 120 targets and caught 67. He could turn that same 120 into 85 with TB12. @DFFMemphisSince being drafted (2014), among WRs w 300+ targets, ARob is: - 17th in PPR pg (14.32) - 12th Targets pg (8.78) - 20th in Rec pg (4.93) - 18th in YPG (65.96) - 13th in Rec TDs (33) with nothing at QB @FF_MarvinE
