Lineups
There may not be a player I've been more back-and-forth on this offseason than Henry. On one hand, his 5.1 yards-per-carry on over 300 carries and his 18 touchdowns from scrimmage seem impossible to repeat. On the other hand, though, the Titans locked him up to a lucrative long-term deal and have found their offensive identity by making him the focal point. A full season of Ryan Tannehill will help and Henry is one of the rare players with RB1 upside, regardless of whether or not he catches the ball.Alvin Kamara's recent contract negotiations have sent many a fantasy fan into a state of panic, but it seems like the two sides are very close to a mutually beneficial deal. With the Saints hanging onto a closing Super Bowl window, I have little doubt Kamara will be on the field Week 1. He dealt with some brutal injuries last season and didn't look like the same player, but he should be back to full health and back to b eing a top-5 fantasy back.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Derrick Henry was a fantasy football superstar last year and finished the season with 16 rushing touchdowns! While that's unlikely to repeat, he still belongs in the top-tier RB conversation and is a solid pick towards the back end of the first round in your draft.Kamara and the Saints appear to be heading towards getting a contract extension done, but there are potential injury concerns hanging over Kamara and his season-long outlook. Kamara has already reportedly had an epidural to help with some ailments and that's extremely concerning. If you're still drafting this week, based on the information we have available to us, I'm moving Kamara down a couple of spots on my draft board. Kamara lands at RB6 right now with Dalvin Cook and Joe Mixon ahead of him in Half PPR format.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
The NFL's leading rusher in 2019, Henry's career-high 5.1 yards per attempt was tops among NFL running backs with more than 140 carries last season. With Dion Lewis having departed, there's a chance that Henry's role in the passing game could increase. The chess piece of the Saints' passing game, Kamara gets the ball on a variety of routes coming out of the backfield. He figures to receive a similar workload as last season with Latavius Murray expected to get in the neighborhood of 10 touches per game in 2020.
Elisha Twerski
numberFire
Henry only had three games in half-PPR formats where he failed to reach double-digit fantasy points last year, compared to nine games with 16+ and seven games with 23+. He finished second in points per game in half-PPR and fourth in full-PPR. Don't let the scoring format scare you.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
2019 was when it finally all came together for Derrick Henry, as he parlayed 303 carries into the rushing title and a RB3 finish in half-ppr. The reaction has been unusual, with a surprising amount of fantasy owners taking a big step back with players like Josh Jacobs, Nick Chubb, Austin Ekeler, Miles Sanders, Kenyan Drake and even Clyde Edwards-Helaire regularly going ahead of Henry for no good reason. Henry remains an absolute stud, especially in non-PPR, with a clear path to another 300 touches and maybe even more receptions. The injury concern appears to be overblown, as Henry has little injury history and all running backs with high volume are a breakdown risk. Ultimately, I'm hopping on the Henry express expecting another big season in 2020.Alvin Kamara had an absolute shocker in 2019. Despite no change in his rushing and receiving opportunities, Kamara dropped five points a game. There are myriad reasons for this massive change but most of them suggest a rebound is on the cards. Kamara battled knee and ankle injuries throughout last season and these really lowered his usually incredible efficiency and effectiveness. His TD numbers dropped by nearly a TD a game as well, which played a significant part in his drop in points. These should mostly regress, but it is worth noting his red zone looks halved last year and that will have an impact if things. Ultimately he's a great rebound candidate but he does come with some very real risk, especially given his recent holdout news. He's a very risky but high-upside pick in the first round.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Yes, Derrick Henry finished with 1,540 yards and 16 touchdowns last year en route to a No. 3 finish. Yes, he was dominant in the playoffs. We still can't forget that he was the No. 14 running back in points per game before Week 10 last year, behind David Johnson and Mark Ingram. Should we automatically assume Henry picks up where he left off in 2019? My issue with Henry is that he's not involved in the passing-game, which lowers his weekly floor. That alone will allow us to choose someone like Alvin Kamara over him. Henry is best-suited as a second-round pick rather than one in the first round. There's just one running back who's had a higher "boom" percentage (25-plus PPR points) than Kamara over the course of their careers, and that's Christian McCaffrey. Kamara has now topped 25 PPR points in 14 of his 45 career games, which is quite ridiculous. His 2019 season was easily his worst to date, though he still finished as the RB12 despite missing two games. The Saints offense continues to groove, and though Drew Brees is still playing great football, his arm strength is declining, which could lead to more targets than every for Kamara, who's averaged 6.7 targets per game over the first three years in a Saints uniform. Provided he doesn't get hurt, Kamara is a near-lock to finish as a top-six running back.

Lack of passing work is the only thing that keeps Henry out of the top five. Focal point of the Titans offense, gets better with volume.Kamara cited an injury in 2019, his touchdown totals should increase and he's the focal point of one of the best offenses in football.

How much more would you love Henry if he caught more passes out of the backfield? WOW the possibilities...The addition of Emmanuel Sanders provides a bit more balance for the offense and will keep defenses honest. Kamara will not have to shoulder the workload

Alvin Kamara apparently tore up his knee week 5 of 2019 which likely had a lot to do with "down" year. In this "down" year, he still ended as RB12. Now that he is healthy, he has as high of a ceiling as anyone.

Elite rusher. Very limited usage in the receiving game hurts his ceiling and his floor. His 18 TDs are likely to regress as well. Good player, but currently overvalued.Coming off an RB9 season, but didn't play at full health. Elite pass-catcher out of the backfield in one of the most friendly fantasy RB situations out there. Expecting a bounce back to his elite PPR scoring.

Henry led the NFL in carries, rushing yards, and touchdowns last season, and continued to smash into the playoffs. With Ryan Tannehill back under center and continuity along the offensive line (other than the swap of Jack Conklin for Isaiah Wilson), there's every reason for Henry to have a big year. He'll never factor in heavily in the passing game so has more value in standard rather than half- or full-PPR formats. But he's a strong RB1 with little risk regardless.

75+ rush yards in 18 of past 22 games (playoffs inc.) - led NFL in Yards Created (yards gain after 1st evaded tackle) and Yards After Contact/Attempt in 2019Top 4 RB in each of 1st 2 NFL seasons before health and loss of QB Brees for 5 games helped sink him to RB No. 9 in '19 - give him a mulligan

Henry's breakout 2019 performance caught me by surprise. He was someone I was avoiding and fast forward to this year, he's an automatic RB1. His lack of usage in the passing game still concerns me but if he's running it the way he did in 2019, it won't matter all that much. He deserves to be drafted inside the top 5.Kamara seems like one of the safest players in fantasy as long as he's on the field. Three consecutive years recording 81 receptions is incredible and Drew Brees is going to continue to target him constantly. My only fears are injury-related. If Kamara plays 16 games in 2020 he will easily finish as a top-5 back.

Henry is potentially the third safest pick in the first round behind CMC and Zeke due to his expected volume. With Dion Jones' departure, 54 carries and 32 targets need to go somewhere. The only options I see are for those targets to either go to rookie Darrynton Evans, depending on how he performs in training camp, or for Henry to absorb them. I expect the Titans to involve Evans, so you're looking at around 300-320 carries and 20-30 targets for Henry, which is very promising volume in Half-PPR or Standard scoring formats. In PPR, the lack of targets lower Henry's floor somewhat, however, league leading rushing attempts should makeup for the lack of targets as they did last year.Despite going from 18 TDs to 6 TDs, Kamara still finished as the RB9 in FP/g in half PPR and the RB8 in FP/g in PPR while playing through injuries. If you give him the same amount of TDs he got in his rookie year (13), he would've gotten 42 (7x6) more fantasy points which would've put his half PPR total at 250 fpts, good for RB7 in half PPR and RB5 in PPR. Kamara with those totals would've averaged 17.9 fpts (250/14) and 21.4 fpts (300/14). Those totals would've been good for RB5 (0.5PPR) and RB2 (PPR). I expect Kamara to have closer to 13 TDs rather than 6 TDs, so use your first round pick on him confidently.

Henry led the league in rushing yards and finished the season with 1,746 yards and 18 total touchdowns on the season. He has a new contract and Ryan Tannehill back under center, which means he should still be a RB1 in 2020.Kamara was pretty disappointing in 2019, considering he was a Top-3 fantasy pick. He finished the year with 1,330 yards from scrimmage, but just 6 touchdowns. I think he is likely to rebound in 2020 and he should have RB1 value.

Returns to TEN w/ Tannehill also back, and now Dion Lewis gone?! Line beefed up in draft after losing Conklin to Browns. Perfect storm of an offseason for Henry

3 drops on 23 targets. 2019 was his worst year of passpro according to PFF. Relying on TDs and elite production, strictly from the ground, needing a great oline, requires some big truss. He's really been the same, consistent player since entering the league. 725-900 yards on the ground. 81 receptions EVERY.SINGLE.YEAR. The ups and downs have been based on health, TDs, and how productive he can be through the passing game.

Underrated aspect of Henry's blistering 8-game stretch (203/1273/11 rushing): not only is it the 2nd-most rushing yards in an 8-game stretch in history, but it comes against teams a combined 24 games above .500. @AdamHarstadAlvin Kamara scored 106 less PPR points in 2019 than 2018. 84 of them were due to him only finding the endzone 6 times instead of 18 in 2018. -1,592 yards in from scrimmage in 2018 and 1,330 in 2019 -Caught the same amount of passes at 81 -Only had 2 TDs heading into Week 16
