Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Kamara has seen more than 100 targets in each of his first two seasons, and is a dynamic pass-catcher for a running back. As he did the previous two seasons with Mark Ingram, Kamara is going to cede plenty of work to Latavius Murray, who signed a fairly hefty contract. But Kamara doesn't need 20-plus touches per game to be an elite fantasy option. The offense runs through him, Drew Brees, and Michael Thomas, and it should be more of the same this year. He's one of the truly elite and safe players in the game today.Elliott is obviously one of the most dynamic running backs in the league, and he took it to another level last year when he got much more involved in the passing game. Without any issues hanging over his head, he's certainly in the discussion for the top selection in any fantasy draft. But, as always, there are issues with Elliott, this time a contract dispute which has prevented him from attending camp. Despite some cap issues, this situation seems likely to be resolved, as Jerry Jones knows all too well from his days with Emmitt Smith the pain of an elite running back holding out. Until we get closer to the start of the season and there are real rumblings of a holdout, continue to keep Elliott near the top of your draft board. He'll likely come in with a new contract and another top-notch season.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Kamara is one of the most explosive running backs in the NFL and he has 32 total touchdowns in 31 games. He should continue being an elite fantasy football option.Elliott led the NFL in rushing yards last year and he should be an elite fantasy running back again in 2019. The only issue is that if his holdout spills into the regular season, it could cost him some games and hurt his fantasy value.
Bart Wheeler
Hail to Fantasy Football
Of course I'm worried about the holdout situations with Zeke and Melvin, and this mini tier in the top-5 RBs might move if the holdouts continue. Will adjust accordingly in the coming weeks.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Kamara has managed to finish as a top five fantasy running back in each season despite only being a workhorse for four games in that stretch. Now that Mark Ingram is gone, there is a chance he runs away with the league lead in fantasy points like Gurley did the last two seasons. With that said, Latavius Murray may jump right into Ingram's role and perhaps even vulture extra touchdowns.Zeke is the biggest risk in the top four but if he plays, he is the best bet to finish #1. He is a durable workhorse behind one of the best offensive lines in football, plus we can expect mostly positive game scripts. Over his career, Zeke averages 2099 yards from scrimmage and 13 touchdowns per 16 games.
Rich Piazza
Fantasy Shed
Elliot is going to continue to slide down my board as we get deeper into August without the star running back in camp. Ultimately, a deal should get done, but until then there is certainly a great deal of risk involved drafting him in the first round.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
I shouldn't really need to sell you on Kamara, but I'll do so anyways. Kamara has turned in back to back top 4 RB seasons, scoring a jaw dropping 31 TD's over his first two seasons. The crazy part is, he's done so on less than 320 total carries, and still hasn't been over 900 rushing yards. Kamara could finish as the #1 fantasy running back, even if he sees less than 200 carries. There isn't a single other RB you can say that about. He's got the most secure TD floor or any back in football, and he's game script proof thanks to his receiving ability (81 receptions in back to back seasons). I have no problem if you want to draft Kamara first overall. He's that safe and that good. The only reason I have Zeke ranked as low as I do is because of holdout concerns. The latest reports indicate that the two parties aren't very close on a deal. I'm still surprised Zeke is holding out. He has two years left on his contract, so he doesn't gain all that much by missing time. Regardless, if he hasn't signed or reported by the time your draft rolls around, I don't see how you can feel good about drafting him. If he does sign, then he'll return to my top 3.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
Has led RBs in Half-PPR FAN PTS per Touch in each of his first 2 NFL campaigns (min. 200 touches per season)If/when he ends holdout, he's the safest justifiable top choice on the board - 12+ PPR FAN PTS in 37 of 40 career games - no non-QB in past 20 years has more in 1st 40 games of a career - but LeV Bell situation last season has us justifiably nervous here
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
With Mark Ingram's departure, many are likely wondering what it means for Kamara, though the acquisition of Latavius Murray tells us a lot. He's likely going to walk into the old Ingram role, though it's important to note that it's no guarantee he's able to fit in this offense. You remember Adrian Peterson with the Saints, right? He was able to go to the Redskins and get it done, so maybe Sean Payton's offense just isn't right for everyone. Because of that, Kamara gets a slight bump in upside, which was already high to begin with, as he has finished as the RB3 and RB4 in his first two seasons with Ingram on the roster. If you wanted to select Elliott at No. 1 overall, you shouldn't feel guilty or bad about it. In fact, he should probably be the favorite to finish as the top running back considering the lack of competence in the Giants offense. Elliott has played 40 regular season games in his career and delivered RB2 or better numbers in 92.5 percent of those games, which is actually better than Le'Veon Bell's 91.9 percent. Elliott is as safe as they come, provided he doesn't hold out. If he's not signed by the second week of the preseason, he's going to fall in the rankings.
Kyle Yates
The Fantasy Footballers
Mark Ingram is now out of town and this leaves Kamara the likely leader of the Saints' backfield. While I'm not projecting anything over 215 carries for Kamara, he's going to see as many targets in the receiving game as he can handle. In any form of PPR, Kamara's a top-tier RB1 for your fantasy team in 2019.The Cowboys are making strides to make their offense more dynamic in 2019 by promoting Kellen Moore to OC. Zeke's the centerpiece of this Cowboys offense and he's always going to be in contention to push the 300 carry mark each season, but will the Cowboys' efforts mean even more scoring opportunities for Zeke in 2019? There's a world where we could look back at the end of the season and be talking about Elliot as the RB1 over Barkley.
