Has a chance to be the new Zeke in a Jason Garrett offense. This may mean more pass catching opportunities on top of at least 15+ touches on the ground. Only good things coming this season.Alvin Kamara apparently tore up his knee week 5 of 2019 which likely had a lot to do with "down" year. In this "down" year, he still ended as RB12. Now that he is healthy, he has as high of a ceiling as anyone.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
After an extremely impressive rookie season, Barkley came back down to earth a bit in 2019, though 4.6 yards per carry behind that Giants offensive line is nothing to scoff at. Playing through injury was a clear net-negative to his overall numbers, and something he hopefully learned from. The biggest difference was breakaway runs of 15-plus yards, as Barkley rattled off 20 of them in his rookie season, but just nine of them in his sophomore season. With all the weapons in this offense, you have to wonder just how many targets Barkley will get, but trust me, the Giants are building their offense around him and not anyone else. If Daniel Jones can take a step forward in year two, it'll help open lanes for Barkley. It also doesn't hurt that they dramatically improved the offensive line this offseason. There's just one running back who's had a higher "boom" percentage (25-plus PPR points) than Kamara over the course of their careers, and that's Christian McCaffrey. Kamara has now topped 25 PPR points in 14 of his 45 career games, which is quite ridiculous. His 2019 season was easily his worst to date, though he still finished as the RB12 despite missing two games. The Saints offense continues to groove, and though Drew Brees is still playing great football, his arm strength is declining, which could lead to more targets than every for Kamara, who's averaged 6.7 targets per game over the first three years in a Saints uniform. Provided he doesn't get hurt, Kamara is a near-lock to finish as a top-six running back.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
If anyone can threaten CMC's 400-touch, 1000-rush yard, 1,000 rec. yard 2019 levels, it's Saquon, who has a new OC in J. Garrett who afforded E. Elliott elite volume in DALTop 4 RB in each of 1st 2 NFL seasons before health and loss of QB Brees for 5 games helped sink him to RB No. 9 in '19 - give him a mulligan
Elliot Berkovits
Pack to the Future
Barkley missed three games due to injury in 2019 and still managed to rush for over 1,000 yards and six TDs. Now, he's healthy and the focal point of what should be a better offense with Daniel Jones in his 2nd season as the starter.Kamara seems like one of the safest players in fantasy as long as he's on the field. Three consecutive years recording 81 receptions is incredible and Drew Brees is going to continue to target him constantly. My only fears are injury-related. If Kamara plays 16 games in 2020 he will easily finish as a top-5 back.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
6th in FPPG last season even when playing through injury at times. That's probably his floor, especially with Jason Garrett in town now as an OC. Garrett was not afraid to feed Zeke on the ground and through the air in Dallas and will do the same in New York.
Justin Dodds
Locked In Football
Nearly 200 targets and 150 receptions in 29 career games for Barkley nudges him past Elliot in either half or full PPR for me. Barkley will continue to be the focal point of the Giants offense this year.Despite going from 18 TDs to 6 TDs, Kamara still finished as the RB9 in FP/g in half PPR and the RB8 in FP/g in PPR while playing through injuries. If you give him the same amount of TDs he got in his rookie year (13), he would've gotten 42 (7x6) more fantasy points which would've put his half PPR total at 250 fpts, good for RB7 in half PPR and RB5 in PPR. Kamara with those totals would've averaged 17.9 fpts (250/14) and 21.4 fpts (300/14). Those totals would've been good for RB5 (0.5PPR) and RB2 (PPR). I expect Kamara to have closer to 13 TDs rather than 6 TDs, so use your first round pick on him confidently.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Barkley missed 3 games in 2019, was limited in several others and played on a 4-12 team that was outscored by 110 points on the season. He still managed 1,441 yards from scrimmage and 8 touchdowns. A new coaching staff should only help his fantasy value and he should have elite RB1 value in 2020.Kamara was pretty disappointing in 2019, considering he was a Top-3 fantasy pick. He finished the year with 1,330 yards from scrimmage, but just 6 touchdowns. I think he is likely to rebound in 2020 and he should have RB1 value.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
After a spectacular rookie season made him a popular No. 1 pick in 2019 fantasy drafts, Saquon Barkley disappointed a lot of people in an injury-riddled season that saw him average four fewer half-PPR points a game (when he played). That's no reason to drop him below RB2 though, as even disappointing Barkley was still pretty darn good. With Joe Judge in town, the Giants have openly committed to improving the run and they've backed that up with the drafting of Andrew Thomas, Matt Peart and a guard I really like, Shane Lemieux. Things are looking very good for a Barkley revival and I'm all about him as the No. 2 overall pick in 2020.Alvin Kamara had an absolute shocker in 2019. Despite no change in his rushing and receiving opportunities, Kamara dropped five points a game. There are myriad reasons for this massive change but most of them suggest a rebound is on the cards. Kamara battled knee and ankle injuries throughout last season and these really lowered his usually incredible efficiency and effectiveness. His TD numbers dropped by nearly a TD a game as well, which played a significant part in his drop in points. These should mostly regress, but it is worth noting his red zone looks halved last year and that will have an impact if things. Ultimately he's a great rebound candidate but he does come with some very real risk that places him clearly behind the elite three of CMC, Saquon and Zeke, battling with Cook in their own tier.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Most fantasy points among RB week 13-16 (Half PPR), 22.9ppgAlvin Kamara scored 106 less PPR points in 2019 than 2018. 84 of them were due to him only finding the endzone 6 times instead of 18 in 2018. -1,592 yards in from scrimmage in 2018 and 1,330 in 2019 -Caught the same amount of passes at 81 -Only had 2 TDs heading into Week 16
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Last season, we saw Barkley struggle due to an ankle injury. However, once he got fully healthy, we saw what he can do again in the fantasy playoffs. Barkley's arguably the best RB in the NFL and this offense flows through him. If you miss out on CMC, don't worry...you'll be just fine with Barkley.Alvin Kamara saw his total touchdowns drop from 18 in 2018 to 5 in 2019. This was, in large part, due to nagging injuries that he dealt with all season long. Assuming that Kamara's fully healthy again, he's an amazing bounce-back candidate and could even go off the board in the first three picks of your draft.
Seth Miller
Crossroads Fantasy Football
He's really been the same, consistent player since entering the league. 725-900 yards on the ground. 81 receptions EVERY.SINGLE.YEAR. The ups and downs have been based on health, TDs, and how productive he can be through the passing game.
