Lineups
Tampa Bay had an amazing fantasy football season as Jameis Winston helmed one of the highest-octane offenses despite his 30 interceptions. With Tom Brady under center, the offense will be much more conservative and less turnover-prone. That will mean they won't need to push the pace as much or throw as much as last year, hence the collective opinion on Evans being down. However, him slipping to the third round in some leagues is absurd. Evans has been one of the league's best receiver in the past six seasons - despite poor QB play, he's never had fewer than 1,000 yards in a season. The touchdowns have been a bit inconsistent, but Brady is a terrific red zone passer and the Tampa running backs may not be enough. Evans has had 12-touchdown seasons in the past and it wouldn't necessarily be a surprise to see him do it again. Don't overthink this - one of the best quarterbacks in the league is pairing up with one of the best receivers. Greatness should ensue. There always seem to be a few factors working against Amari Cooper whether it be injuries, inconsistency, drops, etc. He's undoubtedly one of the most talented wide receivers in the NFL, but he just hasn't put it together as consistently as his teams want. Dak Prescott will throw to the best receiving corps of his career with Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, and CeeDee Lamb in tow. Cooper is going to suffer from some target inconsistency, and while he's a clear talent who would not be a surprise in the top ten, he just isn't the type of receiver I like to build around.

Despite Bruce Arians replacing Dirk Koetter as Tampa's head coach in 2019, the Bucs' passing game looked similar to previous seasons. Arians hammers home the "no risk it, no biscuit" philosophy of attacking downfield, which plays to Evans' strengths. His numbers should benefit from the arrival of Tom Brady, who is a far more accurate passer than Jameis Winston. After being targeted only 31 times over Oakland's first six 2018 games before being traded to Dallas, Cooper quickly established himself as the focal point of the Cowboys' passing game. The five-year, 100 million contract he signed in March includes 60 million guaranteed and sends a clear message that Dallas views him as the primary option in the team's passing game.

In just 13 games in 2019, Evans had 6 games with fewer than double-digit fantasy points in half-PPR. His weekly upside is huge, but his floor is too low for an ADP this high. Addtionally, according to AirYards.com, Evans' average depth of target (aDOT) has been 14.0-plus in each of his six seasons in the league. Now he's playing with Brady, a passer whose aDOT is generally under 8.0 these days.

The Fantasy First Down
Mike Evans turned in his sixth consecutive 1000 yard season despite playing just 13 games and passing 100 yards on only three occasions. He once again mastered the blow-up game with each of those big games topping 180 yards and 30 half-ppr fantasy points. In best ball that makes him a great option but in redraft it makes him a terrifying weekly play if you draft him too early. That aspect locks him into his third-round price tag... or does it? Tom Brady is now in town and Evans could well benefit more than most realize. Brady still has a good deep ball and likes to unleash it on rare occasions when the receiver is good enough. Evans is always good enough. I like his upside but be wary of his weekly variance.Amari Cooper was the WR9 in 2019 but boy it didn't feel like it for Cooper owners. While

FantasyPros
There are a lot of people who'll point out the fact that Evans finished as a WR1 in 2019 despite missing three games. Well, I hate to break it to you, but he was not a WR1 in terms that actually matter to you, the fantasy player. Despite averaging an elite 9.1 targets per game, Evans posted WR2 or better-type numbers in just 38.5 percent of his games. That ranked 28th among wide receivers. Seriously, guys like Sterling Shepard, Cole Beasley, and Jamison Crowder had higher percentages. Now you take away Jameis Winston, someone who was more than willing to throw the ball into tight coverage all the time, and swap him with one of the most risk averse quarterbacks in football? Evans' 2.4 yards of separation at target was one of the worst marks among wide receivers, and while it doesn't tell the full story, those who watch Evans knows he uses his body extremely well to box out defenders rather than gain multiple yards of separation with precision route running. Look, he's still a good player who's totaled at least 1,000 yards in each of his first six NFL seasons, so I'm not completely writing him off, though it does help that he's seen at least 8.7 targets per game over the last five years. I don't think Brady is as bad as some think at throwing the deep ball anymore, I just don't think he does it nearly as often as Winston did/was willing to. I'm expecting a slight dip in targets and less air yards, which in turn, equals less production for a player like Evans. It's not bad if you land him as your WR2, but I wouldn't recommend him as a WR1.It's somewhat maddening that Cooper can't get the 150-plus targets that some do, as he's continually one of the most efficient receivers in the league. Did you know Michael Gallup averaged more targets per game than Cooper last year? Cooper's injury may have played into that but it didn't stop him from being one of the best in the league. Based on the number of his targets and where they took place on the field, Cooper should've finished as the No. 23 wide receiver, and not the No. 9 receiver he did. In fact, he was the only receiver in the league who scored 20-plus more fantasy points than he was expected to in both the red zone and outside the red zone. The addition of CeeDee Lamb isn't going to make getting targets any easier for Cooper, who's now seen 195 targets in 25 games with the Cowboys. Because he's not getting the gaudy numbers that some are, Cooper should be considered a semi-volatile WR2 in fantasy who has more WR1 upside than most on a weekly basis. If Cooper were to get 150 targets, I have zero doubts that he'd finish as a top-three receiver, but as we've seen, that just doesn't happen.

I have a feeling Brady to Evans will be the undefendable duo this season.#FantasyLocust but damn I'm almost drooling over the potential of this McCarthy/Moore called offense
Rob Wilson
The Fantasy Footballers
Evans is the forgotten man in fantasy, and one of the most consistent we've seen. He should be Brady's best friend near the end zone, and is a safe pick for teams who hold off on the top tier. The 1A in Dallas, he will frustrate you at times but win your week other times. Cooper is a great WR2 if you land a high-volume pass catcher in the first three rounds.

Unlike his fellow Bucs WR Chris Godwin, I see the switch from Winston to Brady as a slight downgrade for Evans. With Winston at QB, Evans was known for being a deep threat and someone who would get plenty of 50/50 type balls. I don't expect that to continue with Brady at QB. That being said, it should make Evans more consistent even if it lowers his ceiling a bit.Cooper finally put together a complete season last year in Dallas and has the chance to build on that in 2020. Even with the addition of rookie WR CeeDee Lamb, there will still be plenty of targets for Cooper to remain a WR1.

QB Brady is still throwing a decent deep ball, which should help one of NFL's premier power forward receiving targets top 1,000 yards for a 7th straight seasonCan be a frustrating week-to-week rollercoaster ride but his 13.5 Half PPF FAN PPG mark in 25 regular-season games in DAL is Top 12 level production at WR

If anything, haven't we learned that it doesn't matter what position you play if you're talented? Brady's used Cooks, Moss, Edelman, Gronk.. I had a stat that I didn't know what to do with in Godwin's notes that is also obviously relevant here. Evan's reliance on the deep ball is over stated. Not only on counting stats, but also behind the scenes in reception perception. Mike Evans is good at separating against man and press coverage and while he's elite at contested catches, that doesn't have to be his game. We should stop knocking an all around good WR for being exceptionally good on deep balls. Will always be underrated because of his inconsistency IMO. Finished as WR10 on the year with only 119 targets and constantly dealing with injury. If he returns to Dallas he will continue being the alpha. Cobb might get some McCarthy love, Gallup will get some 3rd year leap love, but Cooper will always remain the clear 1 for me. Gallup still struggles with catch consistency and Cobb is a nice slot piece but nothing more, especially for fantasy. Could also be out the door.

Evans had 1,157 yards receiving and eight receiving touchdowns as the deep threat in this offense. He is probably the player most hurt by the acquisition of QB Tom Brady, Brady has always been more about short passes and his arm strength was suspect at the end of last year.Cooper really did not build on his 2018 season and finished 2019 with 1,195 yards receiving and 8 receiving touchdowns. Cooper is among the most talented receivers in the league and worthy or WR2 value, but he is not consistent enough to be an elite WR1.

Evans could see a slight step backwards with Tom Brady behind center now, but he's still going to be incredibly productive. Brady can still air the ball out downfield and those targets are incredibly valuable for Evans' fantasy production. Brady's going to learn to trust Evans early on and he'll see plenty of targets this year. Evans should be a consistent WR2 option all season long with upside.Cooper's been a frustrating player to roll out in fantasy lineups over the past few seasons due to his tendency to simply disappear some weeks. This season, he now has to compete with Michael Gallup and CeeDee Lamb for targets, which isn't going to help alleviate those concerns from fantasy players minds. Cooper certainly has the talent to take over and single-handedly deliver you a victory any given week, but his inconsistencies are likely to extend over into this season. Cooper's a risky pick at his current ADP.

Evans is SO damn good.. but will Brady give him as many one-to-ones as Jameis was willing to? Does he have the arm to fully unload? I think yes, but he concerns me more than Godwin with this switch

What he loses in volume will be offset with accuracy. He got 120 targets and caught 67. He could turn that same 120 into 85 with TB12. @DFFMemphis
