It was a perfect storm for Tua last year that caused people to question his abilities. Tua was still coming off of a brutal injury, it was a shortened off-season, his receiving corps was underwhelming and dealing with injury, and Justin Herbert outperforming him certainly didn't help. Heading into year two, Tua now has a revamped receiving corps to throw to that fits his skillset perfectly and he's had the full off-season to prepare as the starter. We're not at the point where we can rely on Tua as a weekly starter, but let's not forget what Tua can do when he's healthy and has a solid arsenal of receiving weapons. He's certainly on the streaming radar as we head into 2021.It took a little while last season for everything to click under the new offensive structure, but Mayfield was the QB11 in all of fantasy football from Weeks 11-17. He's being completely written off currently with his current ADP, but he'll absolutely have his moments of relevancy throughout the 2021 campaign. Keep an eye on Mayfield as a streaming option as we move into the regular season and he's a perfectly competent QB2 for your Superflex rosters.

UPDATE.... Rumors are swirling around Houston that DeShaun Watson could be traded within a week. Per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the two teams showing the most interest appear to be Miami and Carolina. It's likely Houston would want a QB coming back to them. If this transpires, the upside of Tua disappears quicker than pizza at my fantasy football draft. Tua's 2021 ranking would plummet. Note- nothing is imminent. This is just chatter, but sometimes where there's smoke, there's fire. It's definitely a risk you have to factor in if you plan on drafting Tua. Stay tuned. With Fitz Magic departing to D.C., Tua finally gets his shot. The addition of former college teammate and speed demon Jaylen Waddle will help. However, losing a mentor like Fitzpatrick will not. The two were close and he was a great teacher for Tua to learn from. Tua's injury history is probably my biggest concern. Can he survive a 17 game season? The AFC East has some tough defenses too. I love his talent though. Tua has the mobility to extend plays, which many other fantasy options in the QB2 range do not.A run heavy offense helped take the pressure off Mayfield and he did decent. Star WR Odell Beckham is recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in late October. I wouldn't count on OBJ for much this year. Even though the Browns have a good line it's hard to envision any upside for Mayfield. They run it too much and it might take Beckham another year until he feels like his old self. Avoid.

It feels as if we all overcorrected our Tua assessment following his small-sample rookie season. It's vital to remember that Tagovailoa was coming off a brutal hip injury without a proper offseason. Furthermore, OC Chan Gailey designed the offense for longtime colleague Ryan Fitzpatrick. The scheme when Tua played was ultra conservative, which led to concerns about the Dolphins' assessment of their No. 5 overall selection. The organization then spent this past spring building AROUND Tagovailoa. Cameron Wolfe of ESPN wrote this summer that the second-year QB turned introspective, embraced his Year 1 struggles, and spent spring practices trying to correct them. Tua isn't a start-worthy option in 1QB redraft leagues, but he has upside in Superflex leagues as well as best-ball contests. He might not become the superstar we once though he could be, but Mayfield was downright good last year. Accounting for strength of schedule, he had the 10th best QBR in 2020. Additionally, Mayfield got better as the season moved along, finishing with a 15:2 TD:INT ratio over his final eight games. Cleveland began passing more down the stretch as well, which would mean more fantasy-viable weeks for Mayfield should the trend extend in to '21.

Has the arm, and with Fuller & Waddle outside, has the talent too. Will they unleash Tua and let him sling? Reports say he's killing it on the deep ball in camp, even with all his WRs laid up

FantasyPros
It's really unfair to judge Tagovailoa after a pretty weak rookie season, as he dealt with an injury throughout the offseason, had no preseason, and plenty of injuries to his pass catchers. On top of that, he had Ryan Fitzpatrick breathing down his neck. Fast forward to 2021 where Fitzpatrick is gone, and the Dolphins have added Will Fuller and Jaylen Waddle to his stable of pass catchers. If his injuries really limited him in 2020, we could see an explosion in 2021 with the firepower they have at wide receiver, but don't automatically assume that.We watched Mayfield take major strides in Kevin Stefanski's offense as the year went on in 2020, but it's important to remember that he didn't throw the ball more than 33 times in 12-of-16 games. They want to play good defense and run the ball as much as possible, which makes Mayfield much more efficient. While he's a great target in 2QB leagues, there's rarely a week-to-week ceiling to his projection.

I'm not ready to bury Tua in the dirt, but after a bad rookie season and reports of struggles with INTs in camp, he is going to have to righten the ship quickly in order to be fantasy-relevant this season. The Dolphins have surrounded him with speed on the outside so the second-year leap could be in the cards, but it's hard to count on it after watching him play in 2020.Everyone seems to forget a very, very simple truth: Baker Mayfield is worse when OBJ plays. I know, it sounds crazy, but the stats don't lie. Without OBJ, despite playing in some insane weather and COVID protocols that held the offense back, Mayfield's QB rating raised 13 points and his TD/INT Ratio went from 10/6 with OBJ to 18/2 without him. The return of OBJ may actually be a bad thing for the fantasy prospects of Mayfield.

FantasyPros
Tua Tagovailoa's debut was not stellar in 2020. Between significant hip surgery, no OTA's, no preseason, and a QB controversy in his locker room, it's a wonder he could do anything productive on the field. However, the Dolphins continued to build the right way and added WR Will Fuller on a one-year "show me" deal and WR Jaylen Waddle via the draft. Tua has the weapons and an entire offseason to reach his potential in 2021. He's a ferocious competitor and an intelligent QB. He just needs some time to get his feet under him. In 9 starts, he threw for just 11 TDs, but the new weapons will open up the field more for the young QB. He remains a perfect buy low in Superflex dynasty leagues. In redraft formats, he could be a decent mid-range QB2. Tua's is a work in progress, but one that still carries more potential than some want to acknowledge.Baker Mayfield has had some challenges in his first three seasons; different HC and play-callers every year, injuries around him, and lofty expectations. In the second half of last season, Nick Chubb got healthy, the offense got simplified, and Mayfield became very proficient in running lots of play-action, forcing him to be more direct with the football. This was the secret to the Browns' success last year. A less reckless Baker Mayfield was a better quarterback in 2020. The throws you get away with in college are interceptions in the NFL. Ironically, this "Better Baker" evolved with Odell Beckham Jr. on the shelf. He will continue to have some decent moments, but in reality, he's a QB2 in Superflex who will have plenty of all or nothing weeks. If he can pick up where he left off (14 TD/2 INT over his last eight games to close out 2020), he could sneak into the back end of QB1. But even over that good second half, Mayfield put up 31 fantasy points against the Ravens and just 8 points against the 2-win Jets. Mayfield is an inconsistent asset until proven otherwise over an entire season. It is also fair to remember two of his home games last year were in weather conditions that made throwing the football nearly impossible.

Mayfield was a better NFL quarterback that fantasy quarterback this year and it remains to be seen if he can build on his solid play in the second half of the season. Mayfield is a QB2 with both some upside and risk due to inconsistent play over his first three years.
