Lineups
Washington's idea of a passing offense was hard to watch last season and the scheme has to get better this year mostly because it can't get any worse. Scott Turner should help Haskins unlock some more of his play and McLaurin will benefit as his primary receiving weapon. In his rookie year, McLaurin had 58 catches for 919 yards and 7 touchdowns. He was a consistent downfield threat and finished with an impressive 15.8 yards per reception. Both second-year players, Haskins and McLaurin should continue to improve as they grow more accustomed to pro play and their strong chemistry will help them both succeed.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
With former Bucs head coach Dirk Koetter hired as Atlanta's offensive coordinator prior to last season, Falcons QB Matt Ryan took more deep shots in 2019 than he had under Steve Sarkisian the prior couple of years. One of the beneficiaries was Ridley, who was on pace to surpass 80 catches and 1,100 yards when an abdominal injury in the first half of Atlanta's Week 14 game ended his season.Despite having missed Week 4, McLaurin would've had a good chance to surpass 1,000 receiving yards as a rookie had a concussion not sidelined him for the season finale. He could benefit from new offensive coordinator Scott Turner's game plans involving more play-action passing than Washington ran under coordinator Kevin O'Connell in 2019.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Calvin Ridley is the definition of a breakout candidate going into his third season. With Sanu and Hooper out of town and an offense that will need to continue throwing a lot, Ridley should be a strong fantasy option with massive upside if he can start to take over from Julio Jones. Just remember though, there's no guarantee the breakout happens this year so don't pay for his ceiling.Scary Terry McLaurin had an incredible debut season with 919 yards and 7 TDs in an awful offense with sub-standard QB play. While Dwayne Haskins is back, you'd have to expect some improvement in his passing while the improved supporting cast should also help F1. Hence weekly floor remains very low, as evidenced by his mid-season run of seven games under 10 fantasy points, but he has week winning upside and is a great Best Ball option. He's a risk/reward WR3 with strong weekly and seasonal upside if the Redskins can finally get their act together in the passing game.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
Prior to getting hurt and having his season cut short, Ridley was on pace for 1,066 yards and eight touchdowns in 2019, which would have had him as the WR14. Now going into his third NFL season, there's a real chance for a breakout. Sure, Julio Jones isn't going away but he doesn't have to. Not many realize that Mohamed Sanu saw 94 targets in 2018 and was on pace for 96 targets before being traded in 2019. We don't really expect Russell Gage to fill that role, do we? If you want to know if there's room for both Ridley and Jones to be WR1s, look no further than the Bucs last year with Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, even if it is rare for that to happen. Ridley saw 49 targets in the six games he played without Sanu, which would amount to 131 over an entire 16-game season. Ridley has real top-five breakout potential and is an ideal high-end WR2 on your fantasy team.It was remarkable what McLaurin was able to do last year while playing on one of the worst teams in football. The disappointing part was that even though he saw 37.1 percent of his team's air yards (sixth in the NFL), he finished with just 93 targets. Knowing it's unlikely we see a big increase in pass attempts, it's hard for him to see an air yards number that is much higher. The reason we can be semi-optimistic with his targets is due to the lack of options around him. Kelvin Harmon and Paul Richardson are gone, along with the 86 targets they saw last year. In comes rookie Antonio Gandy-Golden, and veteran Dontrelle Inman, who was recently signed off the street. If we look at offensive coordinator Scott Turner's offense last year, you'll see it was very top-heavy when it came to the wide receivers, as D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel both hit 106-plus targets. I can't say there's anyone else on this Washington receiver depth chart that deserves more than 75 targets. This could be very similar to A.J. Brown, where we're looking at a player who might get a 25 percent target share in his offense, even if it is a low volume one. The difference is that McLaurin's quarterback hasn't ever posted all-time great numbers, and it's unreasonable to expect that. Still, McLaurin can likely live up to low-end WR2 expectations, though getting him as your WR3 is the ideal scenario.

2020 is the breakout seasonTMC breaks 1,000 yards and becomes Washington's top guy this season. Love his potential
Rob Wilson
The Fantasy Footballers
Should breakout, but his ADP has entered 2019 Chris Godwin territory. Pressure to produce is very high, and may not be worth the cost.Potential to explode this season but QB play could send him into a sophomore slump. He's the only horse in town so McLaurin drafters should hope Steven Sims steps up.
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
Calvin Ridley is quietly becoming one of the league's best young breakout WRs. Even while playing second fiddle to Julio Jones, Ridley totaled 833 yards and 7 TDs last year and that was in only 13 games. The Falcons offense is always high-flying and I'd want to get as many pieces of that offense as possible, Ridley very much included. In only 14 games last season, McLaurin racked up 919 receiving yards and seven TDs while playing with some truly terrible QB play. If Dwayne Haskins can progress in year two as the starter then we could see McLaurin as a top-24 WR. That being said, Haskins had some real struggles last year so that's something you have to consider. At a certain point, no matter how good a WR is, he needs a talented QB to get him the football.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
WR 29 in PPG his rookie season and WR 17 in PPG last season. The arrow is pointing up for Ridley and he has a very safe floor. He won't have the overall WR1 upside that those around him like Evans and AJ Brown have, but he also has less questions.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
There may not be more of a value in all of fantasy football ADP right now than Ridley. He's connected to one of the best offenses in the NFL and he's essentially a lock to see over 115 targets if he plays all 16 games. At his current ADP, Ridley's a home run selection and has the potential of finishing the season as a WR1.McLaurin was a revelation last season for people who drafted him in the last round or scooped him up off of waiver wires in week one. While he does have more competition for targets in 2020, he's the main option in this passing attack and is a guarantee to see over 120 targets. He's a value right now at his current ADP and would be a fantastic addition to your fantasy roster as a WR2/WR3.

Matt Ryan has supported 2 Top 24 PPR WRs four times in his career. Amongst active QBs, only Aaron Rodgers has more seasons of supporting 2 Top 24 WRs. @ClutchFantasy He's been pegged as a potential breakout player this year on one of the pass-heaviest offense in the league. Weeks 1-14 last season, he was the WR14 overall. @SWallace_FFTerry McLaurin's 13.7 PPR FPG last year tied for 10th-most all-time with JuJu Smith-Schuster for any rookie WR drafted in the second round or later of the NFL draft. @GrahamBarfield

Advanced metrics darling and near-backend WR2 producer as rookie was PFF's 6th-highest grade WR in 2019 despite ugly QB combo of Keenum, McCoy, Haskins

Getting out targeted by Austin Hooper in the same amount of games can't feel great. Has been a TD king up to this point. My only small worry for guys like Ridley and McLaurin. They come out as seniors, basically fully developed, and we expect them to continue taking large steps forward when they most likely came out of college as more of a finished product, near their ceiling. However, now that Hooper has left, I would expect a better season, just based on target volume. If you had to guess, who would you say was second on the team in targets? Chris Thompson with 58. He will not be without competition in 2020 but I don't think that has to be a bad thing. Terry saw 6.6 targets with Haskins for 34/500/2 in 8 games. A lot of change in 2020. Scott Turner is the new OC, was co-oc in Carolina where Carolina ranked second in attempts last year. Do bad teams tend to pass more? Probably, the Dolphins and Bengals were 6th and 7th. Will the Redskins be bad? I dunno. Lots of questions.

Ridley was solid with 900 yards from scrimmage and 7 touchdowns, but he needs to work on consistency to be more than a WR3.McLaurin was the lone bright spot in the Washington offense with 58 receptions for 919 yards and 7 receiving touchdowns. He should take a jump in his second year, especially if second-year QB Dwayne Haskins can also take a jump in his second year.
