FantasyPros
We saw Godwin ascend into superstardom last year, compiling over 1,300 yards and nine touchdowns in just 14 games, finishing as the WR2. Insert Tom Brady into the offense, and you suddenly have room for optimism that it continues. The arrival of Rob Gronkowski hurts a bit, but knowing Bruce Arians has used Godwin the way he used Larry Fitzgerald, the numbers should continue to grow. Godwin is a legitimate WR1 in fantasy once again in 2020.Not many expecting Ingram to finish as an RB1 with Lamar Jackson under center, thinking he'd lose some of the goal-line carries to the mobile quarteback. Despite the fact that Ingram had more than 15 carries just twice all season, he finished as the No. 8 running back. We aren't banking on that happening again, especially when the Ravens drafted JK Dobbins in the second round of the NFL Draft. Ingram is going to be 31 years old this year, while Dobbins and Justice Hill have young, fresh legs. We could see Ingram lose a few carries a game, but provided he's healthy, we should still expect him to lead this timeshare and be a borderline RB2.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Ingram piled in the touchdowns last year and was highly efficient on the ground but Baltimore split up the touches in the backfield and it should be even more so this year with them adding J.K. Dobbins. Not only that, but Ingram is over 30 years old so his upside is likely not what you'd want out of an RB2.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
If Julian Edelman can average over 150 targets and be a WR1 with Tom Brady, imagine what Chris Godwin, the taller, faster, more athletic, younger WR can do. Do not overthink it.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Godwin had a breakout season with 1,333 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2019. If he stays healthy, the sky is the limit for the 24-year old wide receiver, although QB Tom Brady does provide some question marks given his age and lack of arm strength in New England at the end of last season.Ingram had a great first year in Baltimore with 1,265 yards from scrimmage and 15 touchdowns. The addition of J.K. Dobbins has a chance to hurt his fantasy value this year, making Ingram more of a RB2.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Godwin was the steal of the draft last season and was one of the key components to many people winning fantasy championships. With Tom Brady behind center now, Godwin shouldn't see any drop-off in targets at all and should become Brady's favorite target very quickly. Godwin has top-5 potential again this season and is one of the safer picks in the entire draft this year.Ingram is going to be splitting this backfield with JK Dobbins this season, but he should still be the lead back. There are plenty of fantasy points for the running backs to go around in this offense though and Ingram is a fantastic selection at his current ADP.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
After an incredible start to the 2019 season, Chris Godwin had only two 100 yard games and three TDs from Week 7 onwards. That's not ideal for an elite fantasy receiver but he remained a solid weekly fantasy option. Despite his WR2 finish last year, the hype surrounding Godwin has little to do with last season and everything to do with the arrival of TB12. Brady could very well be a massive boost for Godwin as he loves those safe mid-range targets but the addition of Rob Gronkowski will have an effect on that too and is reason for caution. Ultimately, Godwin is a solid second round pickup who lacks true league-winning upside without an Evans injury.Mark Ingram was a shock fantasy stud in 2019, though he relied unsustainably on his 15 TDs. This included an incredible TD every five receptions. Now the supremely talented JK Dobbins joins the fun and it's scary for a guy that already had regression coming. That being said though, this offence had 596 rushes and Ingram had barely a third of them so there's plenty to go around. If the 41 RB receptions increase or the offence relies a little less on Lamar Jackson's designed runs, we may see an increase in Ingram's volume. While the offence's overall efficiency and Ingram's TD number will surely regress, there's still value here as a fourth round pick with RB1 upside.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
TB plans to run 2 TE offense as its base, which means Godwin, PFF's 2nd-highest graded WR in 2019, likely pushed to outside more in 2020Coming off No. 8 finish at RB in 2019 he can afford to have rookie RB Dobbins shave a few touches off his 2019 total and still deliver solid RB2 returns in 2020
Seth Miller
Crossroads Fantasy Football
I don't really know what to do with this but Godwin only had 1 less catchable deep ball than Evans last year with 300/2 coming off the deep ball vs Mike Evans 407/3. I think this might show the reliance on the deep ball for Evan's is overblown, while being just as big of a hit for Godwin.Back to back years as the number 1 rushing team. 15 TDs are unlikely to repeat but all the pieces are returning on offense. Should be able to retain RB2 value for 1 more year IF he can hold off Dobbins. There's a chance the timeshare becomes more lopsided by the end of the year.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Last season Chris Godwin finished as the WR2 in PPR leagues. He did that while being 17th amongst WRs with 121 targets. @DaltonGuruFFIngram has a 4 million dollar salary which is very reasonable and a 5.3 million dollar cap hit if cut. Hard to see them moving on from him.
