Lineups
Tyler Lockett finished last season as the WR14 in 1/2 PPR leagues. He had the 2nd-best catch rate of any wide receiver at 74.5%. He's the top target for one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL in Russell Wilson. He's lethal in the red zone and has 18 touchdowns over the last two seasons. This isn't how you describe aCourtland Sutton is entering his third pro season in what should be a much-improved offense. The additions of Melvin Gordon, Jerry Jeudy, and K.J. Hamler, as well as new offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, should help open things up for second-year quarterback Drew Lock. Sutton is still the leading receiver on this team and after a WR19 finish in Lock's rookie year, he should continue to improve. Sutton is a big-bodied, contested-catch machine who has 10-touchdown upside at some point. The Broncos won't be a high-volume passing offense, but they will likely run more plays than last season and Sutton will benefit.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Lockett became QB Russell Wilson's go-to guy in 2018, leading the Seahawks with career-high totals in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. He became an even bigger contributor to Seattle's passing game in '19 and was on pace to end the season with 99 catches, 1,269 yards and 10 scores before leaving Seattle's Week 10 game with a shin injury that required hospitalization.Once Emmanuel Sanders was dealt to San Francisco a week prior to the NFL's trade deadline last October, Sutton emerged as the clear-cut top option in Denver's passing game. He does come with a small amount of risk from a fantasy perspective with unproven second-year quarterback Drew Lock under center, but Sutton enters 2020 as the Broncos' most explosive weapon.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Tyler Lockett put together another impressive season, breaking 1000 yards for the first time on the back of five 100+ yard performances and 8 TDs. His many bust weeks are a concern but the worries don't end there. D.K. Metcalf is a possibility to really impact his target share, as are quality tight ends Greg Olsen and Jacob Hollister. It's also worth monitoring the Josh Gordon and Antonio Brown rumours which won't go away. Ultimately he's a boom/bust mid-round pick with strong upside who has major floor issues but excellent weekly upside. Don't get sucked in too early.Courtland Sutton had a sensational breakout in 2019, despite playing with a bizarre array of mediocre quarterbacks. Concerningly though, he wasn't at his best with Drew Lock, getting no more than five receptions in a Lock game. To add to the issues, the team has signed possession receiver Jerry Jeudy, speedster KJ Hamler, big body Albert O and superior receiving back Melvin Gordon. That means Sutton's very high 26% target share is going to take a major hit. In an offense with low passing numbers, low snap counts and for a receiver with low per-target efficiency, it's looking bleak for Courtland Sutton. He's a bust possibility with a limited ceiling in an offence that will take time to come together.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It was a tale of two different seasons for Lockett, as he started out the year hot, but then had an injury derail his production. Clearly, he was affected by a serious shin contusion that had him in the hospital. I won't pretend that D.K. Metcalf started removing some of his elite target upside, but even Lockett's efficiency went down the tube. Combining Lockett's games under Brian Schottenheimer prior to the shin injury, he's totaled 116 receptions for 1,732 yards and 16 touchdowns over a span of 25 games. That's pretty dang good. Knowing that I'm projecting a rise in pass attempts for the Seahawks overall, Lockett should see 110-plus targets as long as he's healthy, a number that goes very far with Russell Wilson as his quarterback. Seriously, stop talking about regression when it comes to Wilson's receivers. First it was Doug Baldwin. Regression never really happened. Then there was Lockett. Next, it'll be Metcalf. Lockett is perfectly fine as your WR2. He's the safer of the Seahawks receivers because his role is locked in. If the Seahawks were to sign or bring in someone like Josh Gordon/Antonio Brown, that would affect Metcalf a lot more. What a year for Sutton in 2019, eh? He didn't finish as high as some thought (WR19), but it was a miracle he finished there if you were to go back and watch some of the passes he came down with. His 125 targets were the 15th most among wide receivers, though it's hard to see that continuing. He had zero competition for targets last year, which is why he saw over 50 percent of the ones that went to wide receivers. He'll now have to contend with first-round pick Jerry Jeudy, who's the most polished receiver who's come out in the last five years, and second-round pick KJ Hamler in the starting lineup. That's not to mention Melvin Gordon, who's an established pass-catcher out of the backfield. Sutton is clearly a star, but this offense is now littered with talented pass catchers. There were just two games all last year Sutton saw fewer than seven targets, but I think that number goes up this year. He was a middling WR2 last year with those high target totals, yet he's being drafted essentially where he finished last year, and that's despite the improved talent around him. If Sutton wants to finish better than a low-end WR2/high-end WR3, he's going to need double-digit touchdowns, and that's just not something I can predict given the talent around him.

Opposite D.K. Metcalf, I love the perimeter in Seattle. 8 touchdowns last season could certainly be 10 this seasonThe connection with Drew Lock is there and now its time for that offense to take it to the next level. Tons of potential and now is the time to put it all together

A bounceback looks inevitable. Russell Wilson is elite, and Locket is his favorite target.Facing more competition for targets, but true WR1 skillset. Ideal WR3 if you can land him there.

Lockett continues to silence the doubters year after year in Seattle and I don't see that changing in 2020. His connection with Russell Wilson is otherworldly and that's a big advantage over a lot of guys who haven't been able to work with their QB's due to COVID. I like Lockett as a solid WR2 but unlikely to get the volume to propel him into WR1 status. There was plenty of hype surrounding Sutton leading up to the 2019 season and he did not disappoint. Even while playing with below-average QB play, Sutton managed 1,112 receiving yards and six TDs. Now as Drew Lock enters year two under center, we could see Sutton improve on his already impressive 2019 numbers.

4th at WR in end zone targets (14), 1st in TeamAirYards% and NFL-high 8 Defensive PI penalties drawn for 150 yards speaks to the nightmare matchup he is

Weeks 1-9 last season, he was the WR3 overall. He suffered a scary leg injury in Week 10 and was never the same afterward. He still finished as the WR13 for the season. @SWallace_FF In 2019, Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett ranked: 4th in yards gained on slot routes (770), 1st in touchdowns on slot routes (6), 11th in yards gained on 20+ yards downfield targets (379), 9th in receiving TDs (8) @EvanSilva - Tyler Lockett does not get a lot of targets, but the ones he does get are high leverage for fantasy. @LordReebs

Lockett did have a solid season with 1052 yards from scrimmage and 8 touchdowns, but he seemed to take a backseat to Metcalf at times in the second half of the 2018 season. I think Lockett will be more of a WR3 than a WR2 in 2020 and he could likely be the second option in the passing game.Sutton had 1,129 yards from scrimmage and 6 touchdowns playing with 3 starting quarterbacks in 2019. If Drew Lock can emerge as a reliable starter, Sutton has the talent to be in the WR1 discussion in 2020.

Lockett's most likely going to play second-fiddle to Metcalf this season, but there are still going to be plenty of targets to go his way. Lockett's going to hover around WR2 territory all season long, but has the talent and rapport with Russell Wilson to finish even higher than that.Sutton has all the talent in the world to be a top-12 fantasy wide receiver, but there are some legitimate obstacles in his way that could prevent that from happening. This offense may not throw the ball enough to return that type of target volume and he has legitimate competition for targets now with Jerry Jeudy and KJ Hamler. Sutton's a solid WR2 for your fantasy roster that comes with potential top-12 upside if everything goes his way.

18 TDs in the last 2 years on 180 targets(about a 19% target share). I'm not complaining about the TDs and he had a career high 110 targets in 2019 but TDs are not sticky and I think he might just play the highly efficient second fiddle to D.K.Flacco 1-8(8 Games): 12.6ppg Allen 9-12(3 Games): 11.44ppg Lock 13-17(5 Games): 10.2ppg He averaged his least ppg with Lock but also received his only double digit target games with Lock, a growing, rookie QB with a big arm.
