Ellis Johnson True North Fantasy Football | Is this the year we finally see Kyle Pitts reach his potential? Unfortunately, with Desmond Ridder under center, it's probably unlikely. However, the team brought in Taylor Hienicke who has been known to lock in and target his top options. Although Ridder may surprise us this season, it might be best for Pitts' production if Hienicke is under center. Either way, with the addition of Bijan Robinson this offense will be explosive and should find a way to accumulate first downs. One of these years Pitts won't be a pipe dream, it's up to you if you want to risk the draft pick this year. | In 2022 Goedert finished as the TE with five based on points per game. Unfortunately, he missed six games, negatively impacting his end-of-season finish. This offense was electric last season and it shouldn't slow down in 2023. If anything, Hurts might be forced to pass more in the red zone if teams can find a way to stop them on the goal line. However, even if he passes more, Goedert is clearly the third pass-catching option on this team. It's not often you find fantasy relevance that low in the passing pecking order, but Goedert's involvement in one of the league's best offenses makes him the last of the locked-in options for fantasy. |
Mark Ringo Sleepers and Busts | I am going to be completely honest with you folks. I have no idea how to rank Kyle Pitts. Talent-wise, he's the best receiving TE I've ever seen. He should be lighting up the box scores. Unfortunately, it takes more than talent. It also takes a good situation. And for some ungodly reason known only to the Falcons' coaching staff, they refuse to pass to him. Why the heck they drafted him 4th overall in the 2021 NFL Draft is beyond me. If they weren't going to take advantage of his strengths as a star receiver, they should have drafted someone else. All I can say is, if you draft him you better have a backup plan. I never thought I'd say that after I saw Kyle destroy Alabama in the SEC Championships game. And yet here we are- ugh! Sometimes being a fantasy analyst is really the Pitts haha! A new year, but the same terrible Mark Ringo jokes haha! | |
Pat Fitzmaurice FantasyPros | After becoming the first tight end in 50 seasons to have 1,000 receiving yards as a rookie, Kyle Pitts had a bitterly disappointing sophomore season, finishing with 28 catches for 356 yards and two touchdowns and missing the last six games of the season with a torn MCL. The 22-year-old Pitts is immensely talented and figures to be a top fantasy TE for many years to come. But can Pitts be a prolific fantasy scorer in 2023 with run-loving head coach Arthur Smith in charge of the Falcons' offense and the Atlanta QB situation unsettled? Pitts will be a high-risk, high-reward fantasy option for 2023, but at least he'll be cheaper in this year's drafts than he was in 2022. | Over the last two years, Dallas Goedert has averaged 56.7 yards per game and a wildly efficient 10.6 yards per target. He finished fifth in fantasy points per game in 2022, missing five late-season games with a shoulder injury. The athletic Goedert is a playmaking tight end who's averaged 13.8 yards per catch over the last two years. His target upside may be limited, however, since the Eagles were the fourth run-heaviest team in the league last season, and since Goedert has to share targets with WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Goedert hasn't scored more than five touchdowns in any of his five NFL seasons. |
Derek Lofland FantasyPros | Pitts had only 28 receptions on 59 targets for 356 yards and 2 TDs in the fantasy season. He was one of the most underutilized players in the league and he missed 6 games due to injury. He is a Top-5 talent stuck on an offense that has not been able to maximize his physical gifts. | Goedert had 49 receptions for 656 yards and 3 TDs, despite playing in only 11 games in the 2022 fantasy season. Goedert has to share targets with A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, but he is still a very good fantasy tight end that should be among the best in the league in 2023. |
