| Ellis Johnson True North Fantasy Football | In 2022 Goedert finished as the TE with five based on points per game. Unfortunately, he missed six games, negatively impacting his end-of-season finish. This offense was electric last season and it shouldn't slow down in 2023. If anything, Hurts might be forced to pass more in the red zone if teams can find a way to stop them on the goal line. However, even if he passes more, Goedert is clearly the third pass-catching option on this team. It's not often you find fantasy relevance that low in the passing pecking order, but Goedert's involvement in one of the league's best offenses makes him the last of the locked-in options for fantasy. | |
| Mark Ringo Sleepers and Busts | Freiermuth is really a WR who qualifies at TE. I like his talent. I'm just not crazy about his situation. He'll go as far as Kenny Pickett can take him. How far that is though is the question. The upgrades on the offensive line will help, but Pittsburgh is still far from an offensive juggernaut. I want TEs I draft to be on explosive offenses. I want them to have a good chance at scoring TDs. I'm not sure Freiermuth can, even if Pittsburgh gets in the red zone. It's George Pickens who is their go-to guy. They also signed Allen Robinson. He could vulture some TDs in the red zone as well. Freiermuth's current ADP of TE 9 seems like his absolute ceiling if everything goes right, and I'm not sure it will. | Pat Fitzmaurice FantasyPros | Over the last two years, Dallas Goedert has averaged 56.7 yards per game and a wildly efficient 10.6 yards per target. He finished fifth in fantasy points per game in 2022, missing five late-season games with a shoulder injury. The athletic Goedert is a playmaking tight end who's averaged 13.8 yards per catch over the last two years. His target upside may be limited, however, since the Eagles were the fourth run-heaviest team in the league last season, and since Goedert has to share targets with WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. Goedert hasn't scored more than five touchdowns in any of his five NFL seasons. | After a promising rookie season in which he had 60 catches for 497 yards and seven touchdowns, Pat Freiermuth scored only two TDs in 2022. But Freiermuth drew 98 targets in his second season and finished with 63 catches for 732 yards. The former second-round draft pick from Penn State offers a solid fantasy floor as a key component of the Pittsburgh passing game. |
