Lineups
Washington's idea of a passing offense was hard to watch last season and the scheme has to get better this year mostly because it can't get any worse. Scott Turner should help Haskins unlock some more of his play and McLaurin will benefit as his primary receiving weapon. In his rookie year, McLaurin had 58 catches for 919 yards and 7 touchdowns. He was a consistent downfield threat and finished with an impressive 15.8 yards per reception. Both second-year players, Haskins and McLaurin should continue to improve as they grow more accustomed to pro play and their strong chemistry will help them both succeed.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Despite having missed Week 4, McLaurin would've had a good chance to surpass 1,000 receiving yards as a rookie had a concussion not sidelined him for the season finale. He could benefit from new offensive coordinator Scott Turner's game plans involving more play-action passing than Washington ran under coordinator Kevin O'Connell in 2019.If you were able to replace the pair of clunkers Metcalf posted in Seattle's two 2019 games against Arizona with what he did in the team's pair of road playoff games at Philadelphia and Green Bay, he would've ended his rookie season with 68 catches for 1,113 yards and eight scores. He emerged with six games of 70 or more yards over a nine-game stretch starting last November.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Scary Terry McLaurin had an incredible debut season with 919 yards and 7 TDs in an awful offense with sub-standard QB play. While Dwayne Haskins is back, you'd have to expect some improvement in his passing while the improved supporting cast should also help F1. Hence weekly floor remains very low, as evidenced by his mid-season run of seven games under 10 fantasy points, but he has week winning upside and is a great Best Ball option. He's a risk/reward WR3 with strong weekly and seasonal upside if the Redskins can finally get their act together in the passing game.D.K. Metcalf had an alarmingly consistent debut season but his play has plenty of room for improvement. His well known rawness coming out of college didn't seem to slow him down but his route tree was limited and you'd expect more from him in 2020. While the Seahawks offense is irritatingly run-heavy, there's still plenty of room for two 1000-yard receivers when Russell Wilson is at the controls. While the addition of Greg Olsen and the return of Will Dissly are concerning, Metalf has so much upside that he's worth the gamble by the fifth round.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
It was remarkable what McLaurin was able to do last year while playing on one of the worst teams in football. The disappointing part was that even though he saw 37.1 percent of his team's air yards (sixth in the NFL), he finished with just 93 targets. Knowing it's unlikely we see a big increase in pass attempts, it's hard for him to see an air yards number that is much higher. The reason we can be semi-optimistic with his targets is due to the lack of options around him. Kelvin Harmon and Paul Richardson are gone, along with the 86 targets they saw last year. In comes rookie Antonio Gandy-Golden, and veteran Dontrelle Inman, who was recently signed off the street. If we look at offensive coordinator Scott Turner's offense last year, you'll see it was very top-heavy when it came to the wide receivers, as D.J. Moore and Curtis Samuel both hit 106-plus targets. I can't say there's anyone else on this Washington receiver depth chart that deserves more than 75 targets. This could be very similar to A.J. Brown, where we're looking at a player who might get a 25 percent target share in his offense, even if it is a low volume one. The difference is that McLaurin's quarterback hasn't ever posted all-time great numbers, and it's unreasonable to expect that. Still, McLaurin can likely live up to low-end WR2 expectations, though getting him as your WR3 is the ideal scenario.Remember when most people said Metcalf was "raw" and could only run the go-route? Or how about he had no agility because his three-cone drill was bad? Or how about that J.J. Arcega-Whiteside, Mecole Hardman, Parris Campbell, and Andy Isabella went before him? Yeah, me too. Despite having a knee scope done during the last preseason, Metcalf managed to make it back for Week 1 where he racked up 89 yards on six targets. He wound up tallying nine games with more than 60 yards, which ranked 10th among wide receivers. That doesn't even count his playoff game against the Eagles where he broke the rookie record for receiving yards (160) in a playoff game. There was progression in his routes as the year went on, and he's been working out with Russell Wilson at his house this offseason. At 6-foot-4 and 229 pounds, the ceiling is endless with Metcalf, who has true WR1 potential as soon as this year. The biggest concern is that the Seahawks were looking into Antonio Brown, which tells me they may add another perimeter wide receiver. It would directly impact his target upside if that were to happen, and not as much Tyler Lockett. Because of that, Lockett is the safer pick this year, though it's Metcalf who has the higher ceiling.

TMC breaks 1,000 yards and becomes Washington's top guy this season. Love his potential
Rob Wilson
The Fantasy Footballers
Potential to explode this season but QB play could send him into a sophomore slump. He's the only horse in town so McLaurin drafters should hope Steven Sims steps up.Camp hype suggests he will continue his breakout, but lack of full route tree limits week to week consistency
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
In only 14 games last season, McLaurin racked up 919 receiving yards and seven TDs while playing with some truly terrible QB play. If Dwayne Haskins can progress in year two as the starter then we could see McLaurin as a top-24 WR. That being said, Haskins had some real struggles last year so that's something you have to consider. At a certain point, no matter how good a WR is, he needs a talented QB to get him the football.Metcalf enters year two in Seattle with a chance for a true breakout season. He has all the tools to be an elite WR, now it's just about volume. As a rookie, he was already making impact plays but now with a full season under his belt, Metcalf could go off in 2020.

McLaurin was the lone bright spot in the Washington offense with 58 receptions for 919 yards and 7 receiving touchdowns. He should take a jump in his second year, especially if second-year QB Dwayne Haskins can also take a jump in his second year.Metcalf had 911 yards from scrimmage and 7 receiving touchdowns in his rookie season. He has some upside entering his second season, but he does play on an offense with many quality targets that tries to establish the run over monster passing numbers.

McLaurin was a revelation last season for people who drafted him in the last round or scooped him up off of waiver wires in week one. While he does have more competition for targets in 2020, he's the main option in this passing attack and is a guarantee to see over 120 targets. He's a value right now at his current ADP and would be a fantastic addition to your fantasy roster as a WR2/WR3.Metcalf saw 17 targets in the red zone last season, but only brought in 29% of those for receptions. If that number comes even up to 50% this season, Metcalf is in line for a huge season. He's going to have plenty of scoring opportunities and he should be the focal point of this Seahawks offense. Metcalf has a legitimate chance of finishing as a WR1 this season.

Terry McLaurin's 13.7 PPR FPG last year tied for 10th-most all-time with JuJu Smith-Schuster for any rookie WR drafted in the second round or later of the NFL draft. @GrahamBarfieldMetcalf silenced a lot of haters in 2019 while garnering 100 targets and scoring 7 times with 900 yards, but he was actually the least efficient receiver to garner 100 targets. @willson8tor

Advanced metrics darling and near-backend WR2 producer as rookie was PFF's 6th-highest grade WR in 2019 despite ugly QB combo of Keenum, McCoy, Haskins

If you had to guess, who would you say was second on the team in targets? Chris Thompson with 58. He will not be without competition in 2020 but I don't think that has to be a bad thing. Terry saw 6.6 targets with Haskins for 34/500/2 in 8 games. A lot of change in 2020. Scott Turner is the new OC, was co-oc in Carolina where Carolina ranked second in attempts last year. Do bad teams tend to pass more? Probably, the Dolphins and Bengals were 6th and 7th. Will the Redskins be bad? I dunno. Lots of questions.Lockett didn't reach the 100+ target mark until his fifth year, D.K. received 100 targets his rookie year, just 10 targets behind Lockett, as a rookie. There is room to grow in the efficiency category as well as just growth from another year in the league.
