| Derek Brown FantasyPros | After Week 3 last year, Donovan Peoples-Jones saw an uptick in his usage as he developed into a sold (not spectacular) weekly WR3. In Weeks 4-18, he handled a 19.3% target share and a 28.6% air yard share churning out 1.66 yards per route run. He was a WR3 or better in weekly fantasy, scoring ten times. With Elijah Moore in town, Peoples-Jones will see weekly competition to remain the number two/three option in this passing attack, even if we don't throw David Njoku into this conversation. Peoples-Jones is a WR5 that could walk right back into WR3 production if Njoku can't stay healthy and Moore flops. | After back-to-back seasons as a WR3 in fantasy, Boyd dipped to WR45 in fantasy points per game last year. Boyd's target share dwindled to 13.5% (71st) as he finished outside the top 60 wide receivers in yards per route run and route win rate. Boyd isn't a sexy name to plug in your starting lineup, but he remains tied to Joe Burrow, and when the Bengals get a soft matchup against a nickel corner, expect Burrow to feed him. Despite the down season, Boyd still had two weeks with WR1 fantasy finishes and eight games with WR36 or higher fantasy output. Boyd is a WR5/6 worth a bench spot for his weekly flex week upside. |
| Mark Ringo Sleepers and Busts | If you believe in DeShaun Watson, then you should believe in Donovan Peoples-Jones too. When Watson was in Houston DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller both did well. Yes, Hopkins is an all-pro, but Fuller is currently out of the league. One of Watson's strengths is the ability to buy time. That could lead to some big plays down the field. The Browns should pass it more this year too. There's no way they're paying Watson $230 million to hand the ball off. They're going to center the offense around him. And I expect Peoples-Jones to be one of the beneficiaries if he can hold off rookie WR Cedric Tillman.
