Throughout his career, Zeke has averaged 96 rushing yards and 28 receiving yards per game. He also has 48 TDs in 56 games. Consistently great.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
There's only one running back over the last five years who's finished top-six three times, and that's Elliott. Oddly enough, he's never finished as No. 1 though. The Cowboys passing offense just got better with the addition of CeeDee Lamb, and while that may put a cap on Elliott's targets in the passing game, he should be free to rock against seven-man fronts. He saw eight-plus defenders in the box 19.3 percent of the time last year, a number that may dip down into the single digits, provided the Cowboys go three-wide more often than not. Stop trying to find "the next big thing," because Elliott has proven time and time again that he's among the safest picks at the top of the draft. He's posted RB2 or better numbers in 92.9 percent of his career games, which is better than any running back I've ever charted. In fact, the closest is Le'Veon Bell, who's hit that mark 87.0 percent of the time.If Conner were able to stay on the field, he'd be considered as a top-10 running back in fantasy. Unfortunately, he hasn't done that, and it's led them to draft Jaylen Samuels, Benny Snell, and now Anthony McFarland. While none of them are better than Conner, it's likely we see them take some of the workload away from him in 2020.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
Perhaps nobody has a higher fantasy floor than EZE, who has the most games of 10+ FAN PTS since 2016 (53, out of a total of 56 games played)7th among RBs in FAN PPG over past 2 seasons (better than Cook, Henry, Mixon, to name a few), but in a prove-it season health wise - figure he's playing for his future in PIT
Elliot Berkovits
Pack to the Future
Elliott had another stellar season last year and is in position to do it once again in 2020. The Cowboys offense has only gotten better this offseason with the addition of CeeDee Lamb. I don't expect the coaching change to affect Elliott's workload all that much making him the safest player in fantasy behind only McCaffreyMany people consider 2019 to be a bad season for Conner but before getting hurt, he was averaging over 14 points per game. Now, Ben Roethlisberger is slated to return and the Steelers offense of old could be coming back together. Getting a piece of that in the 3rd-4th round is terrific value.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
If Conner stays healthy this year, he's almost certainly going to be a draft-day bargain. Through Week 7, before his season was derailed by injury, he was on pace for more than 1400 total yards and 14 touchdowns. Mike Tomlin has come out and essentially stated that Conner is going to be a workhorse back, and he may get even more work in the receiving game if Ben Roethlisberger doesn't push it downfield as much as he used to after elbow surgery. In other words, it's just health with Conner. If he has it, he should be no worse than an extremely strong RB2 in half- or full-PPR leagues.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
People are quick to write Conner off, but injuries are the only difference from this season to last where he was being drafted as a first-round pick. In fact, Big-Ben is back, so Conner should have more running lanes than he did last season when he excelled. From weeks 1-8 last season, Conner saw almost 18 touches per game, was sixth among RBs in fantasy points per snap, and forced the second-most missed tackles on receptions. He's also played at least 10 games every year of his career and is an RB1 whenever he's on the field. He's easily worth the third round pick.
Justin Dodds
Locked In Football
Zeke has finished as a top 5 RB in every season that he's played 15 games or more in both standard and PPR formats. Having never missed extended time due to injury in his career, Zeke is about as safe of a pick that you're going to get in the first round of your draft.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Ezekiel Elliott has finished in the top-5 each of the past two seasons and may be one of the safest RBs to draft. As long as he's healthy, he'll see over 300 touches and that's exactly what you want from a top-5 redraft pick. You can draft Zeke with confidence yet again this season.Conner's a dicey pick, but that seems to be built into his ADP right now. If everything goes his way this season, Conner will drastically outperform where he's being drafted right now. However, we just simply don't know at this point whether or not he's going to remain healthy for all 16 games. In fact, I might bet against that happening.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Ezekiel Elliott with a coronavirus update: "I would say I had maybe one or two days when I felt symptoms. Even then, it wasn't too bad. I had a cough and a little bit of shortness of breath. Now, I feel good. I feel normal." @jonmachota Zeke is the definition of consistent for fantasy. Last season he was at least an RB2 EVERY SINGLE WEEK. He was an RB1 in 9 of those weeks, with the other 7 weeks being an RB2. @ZtwiceFF
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Ezekiel Elliott remains a ridiculously consistent fantasy running back after his fourth consecutive top 5 PPG finish. Unfortunately, he just doesn't get quite the same amount of volume and team focus with Cooper and Gallup in town. The inclusion of CeeDee Lamb won't help on that front but it should mean even fewer stacked fronts and more openings for Zeke to rumble into. The key to a big Elliott season though is the overall effectiveness of this offence. Zeke dominates the Cowboys red zone touches with a league leading 73 last year. If the Cowboys spend more time in scoring areas that can only help their workhorse RB. Draft Elliott as your RB3 I know you've got a locked-in fantasy RB without the injury risk of Dalvin Cook. What an awful season 2019 proved to be for those who draft James Conner in the first round of drafts. Big Ben was injured, the offence fell apart, Conner's body fell apart and other backs like Benny Snell, Jaylen Samuels and even Kerrith Whyte (who oddly didn't look too bad) swarmed in. With Ben back, Conner ripped like a flying squirrel and another RB in 4th rounder Anthony McFarland in the mix, 2020 has turned into a real crap shoot. With a 4th round price tag though, Conner might just be worth the risk as an upside gamble returning to a good offence where he should be the lead back.
Seth Miller
Crossroads Fantasy Football
Mike McCarthy's RB usage in the pass game his last 3 years in GB: 2018 - 73 targets(12 games), 2017 - 83 targets, 2016 - 88 targets. That was typically with a 3 headed monster. I would assume Zeke is going to demand the large share of targets. He's averaged 83 over his last 2 seasons so potentially no new value here, unless Kellen Moore does something? Mike could get in trouble if he continues running the ball at the pace he did in GB though. 29th, 27th, and 32nd in the league his last 3 years, not gonna jive with a back that's averaged 292 carries a season since entering the league.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Elliott had 1,777 yards from scrimmage and 14 touchdowns last year. There is always concern that a new coaching staff could change his usage, but given the size of his contract and OC Kellen Moore being retained to call plays, it seems likely he will have similar RB1 value in 2020.Conner went from 1,470 yards from scrimmage and 13 touchdowns in 2018 to 715 yards from scrimmage and 7 touchdowns in 2019. The big issue for me is durability, Conner has RB1 talent, but missed 3 games in 2018 and 6 games last year. He has a lot of upside due to his ability, but a lot of downside due to his durability.
