Goff dropped to QB13 last year and he lost Cooks and Gurley. He still has the system and weapons to produce, but I doubt I'll be banking on it.I'm on Team Burrow. He has the talent, system, weapons, and game flow forever in his favor. Are we about to see the best rookie season by a QB ever? Mabes.
Draft Engine
Draft Engine
Goff improved drastically from an awful rookie year to 2017, thriving under head coach Sean McVay. He took another step forward in 2018 before regressing last season. Expect another season with more than 4,000 passing yards but fewer than 30 touchdowns.Burrow was overwhelmingly productive in 2019. He proved adept at full-field reads at LSU, running a system that has a lot in common with NFL spread offenses. His best attribute might be the habit of staying calm and moving subtly in muddy pockets.
Ben Wasley
The Fantasy First Down
Jared Goff had another frustrating season for fantasy owners, with a failure to top 2 TD passes in a single fantasy week last season. This included four weeks where Goff couldn't even top 6 fantasy points. He does have very real upside though. With Gurley gone and a defense which has had some major issues at times, there's a good chance this offence has top-end passing volume. The truly elite ceiling is lacking though and caution is warranted if you're expected weekly consistency or a strong ceiling from the Rams QB.The 2019 National Champion was a worthy number one pick. While I believe there's a risk he's a one-year wonder and I worry a little about the conversion of his skill set to the NFL, ultimately he joins a sensational offense with a heap of long term upside. He starts his NFL career with Joe Mixon, AJ Green, Tyler Boyd, John Ross, Auden Tate and new recruit Tee Higgins surrounding him and that's a darn good support cast. Combine them with the awful defense and you've got an attack ready for a season full of shootouts. Moving forward, the hope is that the O-line improves and the team as a whole improves, but even in the short-term, Burrow is a great, young fantasy prospect. I'd happily take him as my starting QB.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
I can't explain what happened to Goff after that game in 2018 where the Rams went toe-to-toe with the Chiefs (remember that 54-51 game?) but something happened. In his first 26 games under Sean McVay, Goff threw 54 touchdowns on 858 pass attempts (6.3 percent touchdown rate). Since that Chiefs game in 2018, he's thrown just 28 touchdowns in 21 games on 806 pass attempts (3.5 percent touchdown rate). That's not great for a quarterback who offers nothing with his legs. He did throw two touchdowns in eight games last year but didn't hit three touchdowns until Week 17. Now you take away Brandin Cooks and Todd Gurley, only to replace them with Van Jefferson and Cam Akers? It's quite ridiculous, but the Rams didn't address the offensive line issues, either. Their offensive line was among the worst in football last year, which is a problem because Goff isn't good under pressure. He ranked 25th among quarterbacks with a 60.4 QB Rating under duress. The offensive line is the biggest concern for me, as that's the one thing that took a major step back last year, and it seriously impacted his numbers. The good news is that his pass attempts have been skyrocketing, which help make up for some of the decreased efficiency. Goff makes for a decent No. 2 quarterback in Superflex/2QB leagues, as he's not getting benched, and there's always the possibility he goes back to who he was, though I'm not counting on it based on the moves that were - and weren't - made this offseason.Trusting a rookie quarterback in fantasy? Nonsense. Now? After we practically had no offseason? It sounds crazy, and it probably is. However, I don't know if I've seen a quarterback with Burrow's confidence and swag come into the league in a long time. He's also walking into a situation where he has one of the best wide receiver depth charts in the league (when healthy). The offense that Zac Taylor ran last year presented plenty of opportunity, as Andy Dalton finished with the 12th most expected fantasy points despite missing three full games. He threw the ball at least 36 times in 11-of-13 games, including three games with 50-plus attempts. The offensive line is a problem, though it helps he'll get last year's first-round pick Jonah Williams back at left tackle. While the pass attempts and talent at wide receiver are great, what should attract you to Burrow is his willingness to run with the ball. Sure, he broke records as a passer at LSU, but he also rushed for nearly 800 yards and 12 touchdowns over the last two years. That adds breakout potential to a quarterback, so when you combine that with his arm talent, he makes for an ideal QB2 in fantasy. The Bengals defense is in a complete rebuild mode, and while they've added talent this offseason, it'll take time for them to come together. They allowed 26.2 points per game last year (8th most), so if they continue to struggle, Burrow could become 2020's version of Jameis Winston.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Jared Goff threw for 4600 yards and only 22 TDs last season. He is due for some major TD regression and with Gurley gone, he may need to pass just as much this season. He is a steal at ADP.
Frank Bonincontri
Fantasy Wire HQ
Sean McVay s too good of a coach to not get the best out of Goff this year, a focused pass attack with Woods/Kupp/Higbee and resurgence of run game will pay dividends in the NFC West for 2020Red rifle is out, Joe Cool is in. Burrow has enough firepower to make it but does he have the line to get him enough protection?
Elliot Berkovits
Packer Report
After a stellar 2018 season, Goff failed to meet lofty expectations in 2019 throwing only 22 TDs and 16 INTs. With Brandin Cooks now in Houston, Goff will rely on Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods to get him back on track.Burrow is likely the only rookie QB to even be considered in re-draft leagues this season and I can understand why. He may be a rookie but he'll also have one of the most loaded offenses in football with AJ Green, Tyler Boyd, Tee Higgins, and Joe Mixon out of the backfield. I wouldn't want him as my only QB but he's a solid upside pick.

Goff was looking like a fantastic dynasty QB just a few seasons ago, but he may be nothing more than a streaming QB in plus matchups at this point.Burrow has a rough schedule to start out the season, but he's going to be something worth starting every single week towards the latter half of the year. I'm expecting Burrow to finish within the top-12 QBs for fantasy football when it's all said and done.

Jared Goff had 16 interceptions last season. He had 20 more interceptions dropped. Goff took a big step back in 2019 in terms of efficiency but volume was no issue as he threw it over 600 times last year. Goff had 11 TDs and a 2.6% TD rate through the first 12 weeks in 2019. 11 TDs and a 5.1% TD rate in the last 5. @willson8torBengals OC Brian Callahan has been impressed by Joe Burrow's ability to understand what adjustments need to be made for each play during offseason meetings. - Duh, of course he's going to say that...

Joe Burrow has a lot to live up to being the first overall pick in 2020's Draft. He's accurate, and decisive. If I can describe him in one word, it would be precise. He keeps his eyes downfield, and he can move enough to avoid tackles. I would suggest he keeps to evasive movements in the pocket, instead of running the ball downfield. Leave that to your extremely talented running back, Joe Mixon. With AJ Green, Tyler Boyd, John Ross, and now Tee Higgins too, he has a ton of explosive talent to make the plays for him. So, he doesn't need to leave the pocket. Just do what you do best, and throw the ball exactly where it needs to go, make good decisions, and win games. The offensive line is the biggest concern, but at least you know Burrow will get the ball out quickly. From a redraft fantasy perspective, they may be playing from behind a lot, which gives the offense more fantasy value. So, I could see him being a really decent pick at the end of drafts as a backup, or even a flyer, especially if the schedule is conducive to a shootout in the first game, from a streaming QB perspective. The only downside is you're not going to get a lot of rushing points, and I suspect not many rushing TD's...not that he's not capable, but he's so precise, that they shouldn't need to risk his body like that. The question is, how will the coaching staff put together this offense. Let's see how they'll use him once the preseason comes around. To be continued...
