Ellis Johnson True North Fantasy Football | Joe Shiesty slides in as not only the coolest QB on the list but also the sixth for fantasy purposes. Burrow carries all the ability of the top five but is limited due to his lack of rushing. He has the best WR core in the league and the team continues to bolster their offensive line. He's a locked-in top-10 QB for fantasy purposes and could easily crack the top five. | Despite not finishing here since 2019, LJ received a massive contract and will have his best-supporting cast yet. With three first-round receivers surrounding him, along with arguably the second-best TE in the game and a healthy J.K. Dobbins, the sky is truly the limit for Lamar. Especially now that Greg Roman has taken the offensive reigns and will increase his passing volume. |
Mark Ringo Sleepers and Busts | The free agent signing of Orlando Brown should pay dividends for Joe Burrow and the Bengals' offense. Brown will fortify Burrow's blind side at left tackle. This should permeate throughout the offense. If Burrow has time, he'll slice up defenses like the head of the household slices up a turkey on Thanksgiving. There hasn't been this much excitement in Cincinnati since the great turkey giveaway promotion by legendary sitcom radio station WKRP. Famous last words, it should have worked. I planned this QB ranking down to the last detail. As God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly haha! -Ringo "The Big Guy" Carlson
Brandon Funston The Athletic | He has No. 1 overall fantasy scorer upside, but 10 DNPs in the past 2 seasons has to knock him out of the top QB tier
Pat Fitzmaurice FantasyPros | Brimming with swag and surrounded by ample pass-catching weaponry, Joe Burrow has firmly established himself as a premium fantasy quarterback. Burrow finished QB4 in fantasy scoring last season after throwing a career-high 35 TD passes. Over the last two years, Burrow has completed 69.3% of his throws, averaging 8.1 yards per attempt. He added some value with his legs in 2022, running for five touchdowns. Burrow gets to throw to the fabulous WR duo of Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, and the Bengals have made significant investments in their offensive line. Burrow will be a consensus top-five QB in 2023 fantasy drafts. | Drafters might get a slight discount on Lamar Jackson this year after a second consecutive season in which injuries limited him to 12 games. In 2021, it was bone bruise in his ankle that prematurely ended Jackson's season. In 2022, it was a sprained PCL in his knee. Jackson has been a lethal running threat throughout his career, averaging 63.4 rushing yards per game over his five NFL seasons. Jackson will be playing for new, pass-friendlier offensive coordinator Todd Monken after the Ravens parted ways with Greg Roman. Even with the uncertainty and the recent injuries, Jackson is still an upper-echelon fantasy quarterback capable of a QB1 finish. |
Wolf of Roto Street Roto Street Journal | 5/5: With no more holdout risk, a newly-stacked weapons-cabinet (Zay Flowers, Odell join Andrews & Bateman), & Todd Monken - a former Air Raid Guru - opening up this offense, Lamar could return to his MVP-levels. Immense upside
Tera Roberts Dynasty Vipers | Safe option but I prefer to take the risk of a higher ceiling with Jackson and Fields.
Derek Lofland FantasyPros | Burrow finished the season with 4,475 yard and 35 TDs. He plays on one of the best offenses in the NFL and he is elite fantasy QB1. | Jackson is a great duel threat QB that had 2,242 yards passing, 17 passing TDs, 764 yards rushing, and 3 rushing TDs. The only reason I do not have Lamar Jackson as a Top-5 fantasy QB is that he has missed 10 games due to injury the last 2 years. If he can stay healthy, the sky is the limit, but a QB cannot miss 5 games per year and be an elite fantasy option. |
