Sleepers and Busts
Jonathan Taylor started out slow, but by the end of the year he was a run away freight train. Marlon Mack is back after signing a new deal and is healthy again. How will the Colts split up the carries? They invested a high pick in Taylor so he should get the bulk of them. The concerns with Taylor are: 1.) he was prone to fumbles in college and 2.) He's not the best at catching passes, which limits his upside in half and full point PPR formats. That said, this Colts team should be in a lot of shootouts in the AFC South. Taylor should get a bunch of TDs in 2021.The Cowboys offense was decimated by injuries in 2020. However, before Dak got hurt they were rolling. The concerns with Zeke are 1.) He's had off the field issues in the past. There's always a risk he acts like a knucklehead and gets suspended. 2.) If Dak gets injured again the Cowboys offense will struggle. 3.) The Cowboys schedule isn't easy. They play a lot of tough defenses in 2021. Washington's defense in particular is menacing and they have to play them twice-ugh! I think Zeke will do better, but that Dallas schedule doesn't have as many cupcakes as I'd like.
Brendan Tuma
FantasyPros
Jonathan Taylor enters 2021 as a volatile first-round fantasy selection. This isn't meant to be a cop out in terms of taking a stance on him. Instead, it's important to understand this about him when it comes to roster construction. Taylor could very well be the No. 1 pick in 2022 redraft leagues. He could also be a frustrating player to roster given the uncertainty Carson Wentz brings to this entire Indianapolis offense. Another factor working against Taylor is the presence of Nyheim Hines, who should be considered the favorite for passing game work out of the backfield (no matter how much Taylor is "working on his hands" this summer). Ultimately, Taylor was an elite prospect entering the league and he smashed down the stretch of his rookie season. He isn't a known commodity like Nick Chubb or Aaron Jones, and therefore picking him requires a certain amount of risk tolerance, but I'd be willing to bet on an ascending player who has an overall RB1 finish in his range of outcomes.Any statistical projection is going to love "Zeke" entering 2021. We anticipate him receiving the bulk of touches on an offense that should once again play at one of the fastest paces in football. That's a recipe for fantasy success. Of course, lingering in the back of our minds is how slow Elliott seemed to be moving down the stretch last season. Perhaps that was party due to the Dallas offense struggling under Andy Dalton, but it wouldn't be a huge surprise if Zeke finally hit the wall after all these years of heavy workloads. The cliff is coming one of these years, so I'd probably hedge with a younger/more stable option in Round 1 of my drafts this summer. Of course, there's also an argument to be made that fantasy analysts shouldn't overly rely on subjective takes like talent evaluation, which is why Elliott is still getting RB1 treatment from the community.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
When Marlon Mack went down with a season-ending injury in Week 1, everyone expected Taylor's breakout to come immediately. But it didn't. Instead, it was a frustratingly slow build, during which it felt like Taylor left rushing yards and fantasy points on the table every game. But if you held out long enough, you were rewarded with a dominant stretch, during which Taylor feasted on a six-game stretch of soft run defenses, enough to propel him to a finish as the RB6 on the season. With an upgrade in quarterback and running behind a strong offensive line once again, a healthy Taylor should amass fantasy points aplenty this year.
Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
This time last year, I was much higher on Taylor than the consensus. I like Taylor, but did everyone forget about what happened the first 10 weeks of the season? Taylor was the RB19 and David Montgomery was the RB20. Taylor finished the year as the RB6 while Montgomery was the RB4. Many will talk about Montgomery's schedule as the reason for his production, hence why he's ranked at RB20 in ECR right now, but are they ignoring Taylor's schedule? He played against the Texans TWICE, Packers, Raiders, Jaguars, and the Steelers (who were decimated by injuries in that game). That's a large reason for his jump in production. I still like Taylor, just not nearly as much as the consensus.Follow the production in the first round. There's just one player who's finished as a top-12 running back five times since 2015. That player is Elliott, and as crazy as it sounds, he wasn't even in the league in 2015. "But Mike, Elliott tanked last year to RB11." The entire team sank without Dak Prescott, but in the five games with him, Elliott was the No. 3 running back in fantasy. If he keeps falling until the end of the first round, there will be a lot of championship rosters from that area of drafts.
Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Our perception of Ezekiel Elliott may be a bit skewed after his lackluster performance for fantasy last season. However, we need to remember the full context of the situation and recognize that Zeke was a top-tier fantasy option through the first five weeks of the season. He was the RB3 when Dak Prescott was healthy and on the field and was averaging a healthy 19.9 fantasy points per game. With Dak presumably back and ready to go for Week 1 of the 2021 NFL season, Zeke's a fantastic option again this season to lead your team as a RB1. If you happen to get him at a bit of a discount because of what happened last season, that's just simply icing on the cake.
Tim Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Taylor played so well down the stretch last season that many forget we looked like a bust for a big chunk of the season. With the rookie jitters shaken-off, the powerful Taylor looks like a lock to be a top-10 back in year 2. The two concerns, the downgrade at left tackle and the QB question. If Carson Wentz can return to his once dominant form, the sky is the limit for Taylor.Take advantage of this one year when Zeke will be available outside of the first few picks. He will bounce back with Dak back under center and be a top-5 fantasy option again.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Taylor was sixth among fantasy running backs with 234.8 fantasy points, but he ended the season with 125.3 fantasy points in his final 5 games. I think he picks up where he left off in his second year and he is a more consistent elite RB1 running behind one of the best offensive lines in the NFL.Elliott was very disappointing in 2020, but he also did not have Dak Prescott most of the year and the Cowboys line was decimated by injuries. He also had 197.7 fantasy points, which was still 11th among fantasy running backs. I still think Elliott is in the RB1 mix, although this is a big year for him. He needs to rebound to show he still has what it takes to anchor a fantasy team.

Was RB3 in PPG with Dak, who now returns. Don't LOVE the player, but love the offense and his role within it.
