Mark Ringo Sleepers and Busts | Herbert was hurt last year. He took a beating. He's healthy now and should bounce back to his old self. The Chargers also added Quentin Johnston to bolster their WR room. He adds some size and speed. They also changed their offensive coordinator. Kellen Moore comes over from Dallas. There should be plenty of shootouts in the AFC West. I expect Justin Herbert to be a big part of them. He's fairly valued right now. Herbert's current ADP is QB 7. I think the time off will help him "recharge his batteries" in 2023 haha! Where's NBC at? I should have my own sit-com with lame jokes like that haha! The Mark Ringo Show. We'll be right back after these messages from our sponsors haha! Bounce Back Candidate | With Kellen Moore fired as offensive coordinator, expect some big changes in Dallas in 2023. Here's what head coach Mike McCarthy had to say about it..... "I've been where Kellen has been: Kellen wants to light the scoreboard up," McCarthy told reporters at the NFL combine. But I want to run the damn ball so I can rest my defense. I don't desire to be the No. 1 offense in the league. I want to be the No. 1 team in the league with a number of wins and a championship. And if we have to give up some production and take care of the ball better to get that, then that's what we'll do." That's a bad sign for Dak Prescott's fantasy outlook. Prescott's current ADP of QB 9 is way too high a price for Mark Ringo. I'm dropping everyone remotely related to the Cowboys' passing attack significantly down my rankings. This ain't my first fantasy rodeo. Ya'll remember what I told you come draft day. Ya'll steer clear of fantasy analysts who try to tell you to take Dak. There will about a lot of fantasy folks out there to hang you this year by recommending Dak. Get moving. Bust -William Munny Ringo |
Ellis Johnson True North Fantasy Football | After a disappointing 2022 campaign, I'm projecting a massive bounce back for the young gun-slinger. With the addition of first-round WR Quintin Johnson, alongside Mike Williams, Keenan Allen, and Gerald Everett, his weapons rival any offense. Now with Kellend Moore calling the shots, his passing game should spike in efficiency and volume compared to last year.
Wolf of Roto Street Roto Street Journal | 5/4: Keenan is going nowhere, Quentin Johnston is back, and Kellen Moore is the BEST possible OC Hire. Loves to sling deep, commanded Top-2 attacks for the majority of his playcalling time in DAL. A beautiful offseason for a massive rebound year for Herbert. | 2/8 - All DAL passing game downgraded with no more Kellen Moore, who's replaced with run-obssessed Brian Schottenheimer |
Pat Fitzmaurice FantasyPros | Justin Herbert has abundant arm talent and the mobility to add rushing value, so fantasy managers were expecting him to take another step forward last season in his third year as a starter. Instead, Herbert took a step backward, with significant declines in his yardage per game, yardage per attempt and touchdown rate. He ran for only 147 yards and didn't have a single TD run. In Herbert's defense, he gutted it out through a rib cartilage fracture sustained in an early-season Thursday-night game vs. the Chiefs, and Herbert's top two receivers, Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, both missed time with injuries. The Chargers have jettisoned oft-criticized offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi, replacing him with Kellen Moore. Herbert remains one of the toolsiest quarterbacks in the league and will likely produce much-improved fantasy numbers in 2023. | This seems like a crossroads year for Dak Prescott, who's coming off a forgettable 2022 campaign. Prescott finished as the QB2 in 2019, giving us a glimpse of what his fantasy ceiling looks like. But he has missed significant time with injuries in two of the last three years, and his passing efficiency numbers are trending in the wrong direction. Prescott threw an NFL-high 15 interceptions in 2022. His 7.3 YPA was his lowest since 2017. After averaging 278.1 passing yards per game in 2021, Prescott averaged 238.3 passing yards per game in 2022. He ran for six touchdowns in each of his first three seasons but has only eight TD runs over the last four years. Consider Prescott a low-end QB1, stationed somewhere between the elite fantasy quarterbacks and the streamer class. |
Tera Roberts Dynasty Vipers | Herbert was not Herbert in 2022 - injuries to weapons, bad coaching, rib injury. He could easily turn this around and return to his 2021 form averaging 23.3 ppg...but at his best that's more of a #5 QB with the amount of rushing QBs that have upped their game. They will have a new offensive scheme this year and his weapons are still older with injury concerns. I'm not drafting him at his ceiling.
Derek Lofland FantasyPros | Herbert's 4,739 passing yards were fantastic, but his 25 TD passes were a little lower than fantasy managers had hoped for entering the year. He is still a very solid QB1, but probably not in the very elite tier. | Prescott had 2,860 yards passing and 23 passing TDs in 12 games this year. Prescott should be a low-end QB1 if he can stay healthy for 17 games in 2023. |
