Kyle Yates
FantasyPros
Andrews certainly didn't have as productive of a season last year as he did in 2019, but he still finished within the top-5 at the TE position. The overall offense took a step backwards and this dramatically affected the numbers that Andrews was able to put up. Heading into 2021, the Ravens have addressed some key needs at the WR position, which should only help Andrews and open things up for this offense. He still should be the number one target for this offense and he's worth drafting as a top-5 option yet again.Find me a more hyped up player this season than Pitts. Go ahead, I'll wait. It's near impossible to talk about the top-5 TEs this season and keep Pitts out of the conversation due to the opportunity that's now in front of him. It would be the definition of an outlier if he finished as a top-5 option in his rookie season, but the ball has to go somewhere in this offense and the Falcons are going to be committed to getting the ball in his hands. You're going to have to pay up to get him on your team, but the opportunity that he has in Atlanta this season might make it worth the investment.
Brendan Tuma
FantasyPros
Andrews' efficiency took a step back after posting elite 2019 results, but he remains in an exciting situation for fantasy production. Mainly, the Ravens didn't bring in any competition for his middle-of-the-field role in Lamar Jackson's passing attack. Both Marquise Brown and Rashod Bateman are dealing with injuries, which gives Andrews a chance to dominate Baltimore's target share early on.The highest drafted tight end ever enters the NFL with a locked-in prominent role within his team's passing offense. Pitts is often described as a unicorn, a player who we all think can overcome the mostly negative history of rookie tight ends in fantasy football. In addition to his own talent, the case for Pitts lies in how much volume he could see post Julio Jones trade. His offensive environment is a positive as well, headlined by the underrated Matt Ryan and the forward-thinking Arthur Smith. Pitts has a large range of outcomes in his first season in the NFL, but the ceiling outcome keeps him in play as a top five or six round pick come draft day.

Mark Andrews is pretty steady. The knock is he plays on a run oriented offense which limits his upside. The good news is that' it's a good offense as long as Lamar Jackson is healthy. And when they get close to the goal line Andrews is a good red zone weapon in the passing game. What if I told you it was possible to draft Calvin Johnson and play him at TE. Would you do it? In 30 years of playing fantasy football, Kyle Pitts is the best fantasy tight end I've ever seen. I had that same feeling back in 1998 when I first saw and drafted a rookie WR from Marshall on the Vikings, Randy Moss. I had that feeling again after I saw RB Saquon Barkley. Many experts said a rookie couldn't be drafted as the 1st or 2nd RB because he hadn't done it before. Saquon had over 2,028 total yards 91 receptions 15 TDs his rookie year. To paraphrase the line from A League of Their Own, "I know the goods when I see it. And he's the goods." When his career is all said and done Kyle Pitts will rewrite the record books at TE.

Question: What do you do with a guy who's got back-to-back top-5 finishes under his belt and plays in a banged-up receiving corps? Answer: Draft him as a top-3 option. It's clear that Baltimore will place more emphasis on Lamar Jackson the passer this season, and that could benefit Andrews significantly considering the team has dealt with numerous issues at WR this offseason. There's a lot to be said about a 122/1,553/17 receiving line over the last two seasons. Andrews is a steal in drafts right now, currently going behind George Kittle and Kyle Pitts. It's really difficult not to rank Pitts as a top-5 option, even though rookie TEs almost never achieve that level of production. History is against him finishing as high as TE5, but I'm going to rank him there because the upside is enormous. Imagine drafting yawn-worthy options like Hockenson, Fant, or Thomas ahead of a guy like Pitts. It ain't gonna happen.

With Julio gone, Kyle Pitts could truly explode in Year 1 - a unicorn prospect with limitless target potential; has been a star of camp

It's kind of crazy how much Andrews gets disrespected by the fantasy community. He's tallied 2,105 yards and 20 touchdowns over his first three seasons in the league. That's the ninth-most yardage by a tight end in the post-merger era during his first three seasons. You know what other tight ends are on that list? George Kittle, Rob Gronkowski, Jimmy Graham, and Kellen Winslow. Sure, the Ravens went out and added some pass catchers, but Andrews is the go-to option for Lamar Jackson over the middle of the field and in the red zone. Health has been the biggest obstacle for Andrews, but if he's able to stay on the field, he should be the No. 4 tight end off the board. He should be a very good player for a very long time, but we've seen highly-athletic tight ends have trouble out of the gate before. In fact, rookie tight ends in general have trouble producing. I want to ask you a question: Since 1998, how many tight ends do you think have topped 627 yards in their rookie season? Two of them. Both of those tight ends saw 115-plus targets, a number Pitts isn't likely to see with Arthur Smith as the new head coach. It helps that Julio Jones has left town, but don't forget that ultra-athletic Jonnu Smith saw just 65 targets in Smith's offense just last year, and he wasn't a rookie.

Mark Andrews is one of the more TD-dependent TE's that will be drafted this year. in 2020, Andrews scored seven TDs across five games. In the other nine games he played in, he was held to 32 yards receiving or less in six of them. He will always be a threat to score, but if he doesn't he could easily wind up with five or less fantasy points so drafter beware.I don't think I've ever seen more hype over a rookie tight end as I've seen for Kyle Pitts. This guy has all the makings of a future star in the NFL and he landed in a great spot to achieve that. With Julio Jones now in Tennessee, there will be more than enough targets to go around for Pitts to be a weekly starter at tight end.

Andrews could be a fantasy superstar if the Ravens leaned into the pass just a little more. As it is, they ranked 32nd in pass attempts per game last year, and it's difficult to see them dramatically changing the game plan with Lamar Jackson under center. Even if they do, the team drafted Rashod Bateman and signed Sammy Watkins, which means Andrews will be hard-pressed to significantly improve his production. Still, he ranked as the fourth-best tight end in both total fantasy points and fantasy points per game last year, and was the fifth-most targeted tight end in the red zone. In other words, even if he fails to build on his previous production, he'll likely be a top-5 tight end once again. No one can or should doubt Pitts' talent or ability to succeed in the NFL long-term. He's one of the most physically gifted tight ends to ever come out of the draft, and in a few years, he's likely going to be the top pick in fantasy at the position. Given the historically poor performance of rookie tight ends in fantasy, there would ordinarily be reason to fade Pitts just a bit in redraft leagues. But Atlanta's trade of Julio Jones opens up too many targets for fantasy managers to let him slip far. Draft him as a top-5 tight end. and hope (and expect) that he bucks the trend for rookies at his position.

Andrews was very good with 141.1 fantasy points, but he was not quite as good as 2019, when he had 175.2 fantasy points. He is still a very good fantasy tight end, but the inconsistency of the Ravens offense keeps him out of the elite players at the position. He also may lose some targets with an upgraded wide receiver core in place for 2021.Pitts still has a lot to prove as a rookie, but he is in a great situation playing with Matt Ryan and Calvin Ridley. He should be a mismatch nightmare and a high-end TE1.

The Ravens offense giveth, the Ravens offense taketh away. Andrews has so much appeal because of the lack of proven pass-catchers on the Ravens offense, but his ceiling is also limited by the offense that ranked dead last in throws in 2020. Now with first-round rookie Rashod Bateman entering the fold, it will be hard to lean on Andrews the same way you thought you could at the time last season. He will be good, in terms of TEs, but his price tag will probably be too high in an offense that caps his potential. With the departure of Julio Jones, many people are all aboard the Pitts bandwagon, but it might be a little premature. Rookie TEs are notoriously slow starters in their careers and are often not fantasy viable until much later. In the last 18 seasons, only two TE's (John Carlson and Evan Engram) have had more than 600 yards in their first season. Some analysts have Pitts as high as TE4, which is too high. Last year's TE4, TJ Hockenson, had 723 yards and 6TDs , numbers that only one rookie since 1988 (Engram) has come close to touching. Over the last 3 seasons, the TE4 has averaged 204.3 PPR points (17 game season), no rookie TE has reached that mark since Mike Ditka in 1961. STOP IT! To bet on Kyle Pitts to be a top 4 TE is to bet on something that has never happened before. With that being said, at the right draft price, which you won't be able to get, he should have enough opportunity to be a solid TE because of the opportunity in Atlanta.
