FantasyPros
It's hard not to fall in love with Murray's upside for fantasy football this year. We know what he can do with his legs and it's quite possible that we see him amass 4,000 passing yards to pair with over 1,000 rushing yards this season with the 17-game slate. He has a restocked cupboard of receiving weapons that are going to help make life easier on him with AJ Green and Rondale Moore entering the fold and he's always a threat around the goal line. Murray totaled 25 carries inside the red zone last season and it could have been a lot more if he hadn't gotten banged up. Murray offers legitimate QB1 upside and he's absolutely worth considering as a top-3 QB off the board this season.Last year was a disappointing season for Lamar and the Ravens offense, but the team has been very intentional this off-season on fixing the receiving corps to give Jackson some support. While I don't believe that we're going to see a complete offensive transformation here like what Buffalo did in 2020, we could see Baltimore lean on their passing game a little bit more to open things up. We've seen the upside with Jackson before when he hit 36 passing touchdowns in 2019 to go along with his 1,206 rushing yards. While I'm not banking on him hitting those historic numbers in 2021, there's a world in which he gets back to dominating for fantasy football with the new additions around him. The only concern is that Jackson has been vocal about his hesitancy about the COVID-19 vaccine, which puts him at a higher risk to miss game action this season due to an exposure, etc. This shouldn't be used as a method to completely write him off for fantasy football, but if you're torn between him and another QB that you know has received the vaccine, that could be a useful tiebreaker. Otherwise, he's a top-5 QB for 2021.

The Cardinals added help on the offensive line in free agency by signing all-pro center Rodney Hudson. They also drafted Rondale Moore and signed AJ Green to the WR core. Moore is undersized, but can fly. Does AJ have anything left in the tank? We'll see. My biggest concern is Kyler runs less. After he hurt his shoulder last year he said he wants to run only as a luxury. If that transpires, Kyler loses a bunch of value. For that reason, I'm moving Kyler down a few spots.Lamar "Action" Jackson disappointed owners in 2020 mainly because they took him too early, but he's still very talented and the fastest guy on the field. His rushing yards add up quickly in the fantasy box score. He had 1,000 yards and he missed a game- incredible! The Ravens improved offensive line should help. He's Michael Vick 2.0. Jackson will be cheaper on draft day this year which I like. Probably because I'm cheap haha!

The former No. 1 overall pick was on pace to break fantasy football before suffering a mid-season shoulder injury that he wound up playing through. From Weeks 1-10, Murray's per-game averages were 9.7 rush attempts and 6.9 rushing yards per attempt, to go along with 10 TDs on the ground. Afterwards, those averages fell to 6.6 attempts per game and 4.7 yards per attempt. Murray scored just one rushing TD during this time. Perhaps he was always destined for regression, but Murray's 29.3 fantasy points per game (Weeks 1-10) would've been all-time record had he sustained it over the course of a full campaign. Just like with Allen, I have no problem selecting Kyler as the first signal caller off the board. The 2019 MVP became the first quarterback to ever run for 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons last year, but his fantasy campaign was still viewed as a disappointment by many. Jackson's passing TD rate regressed as we expected, dropping from an outlier 9.0% mark in '19 down to 6.9% in 2020. The Ravens spent the first half of the year trying to "take the next step" with their offense, but box score struggles led to them getting back to the basics down the stretch. Now equipped with Rashod Bateman (eventually) and Sammy Watkins, Jackson is set up with the best receiving corps of his career. He's another high-floor, high-ceiling QB1 option come draft day.

The past two seasons, he's averaged 10.6 FAN PPG in rushing stats alone - that's the ultimate cheat code, especially for a QB that's also averaged 31 TD passes in that span

Murray was extremely good to fantasy managers last year, delivering QB1-type performances 68.8 percent of the time, which was the third-best mark in the league. He wasn't just barely hitting those numbers, either, as he tallied 26-plus fantasy points on eight separate occasions, tied for the most in the league. The Cardinals added A.J. Green and Rondale Moore, while losing Kenyan Drake. This suggests there's going to be more dropbacks, which in turn means more fantasy points. Murray is an every-week starter and worthy of a top-five quarterback selection in the 4th/5th round.Do you know how many times Jackson has finished with fewer than 16.5 fantasy points since taking the starting job in 2019? Four. He's posted 21.3 or more fantasy points in 22-of-30 games during that stretch, which is flat-out ridiculous. Since becoming the starter two years ago, he's posted QB1-type numbers in 76.7 percent of his games. The only other quarterback who's posted higher than 64.8 percent in their career is Patrick Mahomes, who's sitting at 69.6 percent. On top of that, Jackson now got better weapons to throw to, yet some are ranking him as the fourth-best quarterback in fantasy? Not me. Jackson should be in the conversation to be the first quarterback off the board.

The Ravens recognized the lack of reliable pass-catchers and addressed this problem in the offseason, snagging veteran Sammy Watkins and drafting Rashod Bateman in the first round. Providing him more weapons in the passing game ultimately can unlock further potential. Between an improved receiving core and his dangerous rushing ability, Jackson is a lock for a top-ten QB finish, and THE overall QB1 as a distinct possibility.

Most fantasy managers expected significant regression from Jackson last year, and they certainly got it, especially early on. Through Week 11, Jackson averaged just 20.3 fantasy points per game, 12th-most among quarterbacks. From that point on, he averaged 27.7 fantasy points per game, most in the league. A large part of his success later in the year was the increase in his rushing yardage, as he went from averaging 57.5 rushing yards per game in the first 11 weeks to 86 rushing yards per game over his final five contests. Jackson will likely continue to rely on his legs plenty, but he'll also have new weapons, including rookie Rashod Bateman and Sammy Watkins. Add it all together and Jackson should provide an incredibly high floor with the upside to finish as the No. 1 quarterback overall again if everything breaks perfectly.

Kyler Murray was on a record setting pace prior to an injury that limited his rushing ability. As long as he remains healthy, he will be a no brainer QB1 option.

Murray had 271.40 fantasy points in his first 9 games or 30.16 fantasy points per game. He slowed in the 2nd half of the year with 119.34 fantasy points in 7 games or 17.05 fantasy points per game. I think he is still a great QB1, but he needs to be more consistent in 2021 to be in the same class as the four quarterbacks ahead of him.Lamar Jackson was never going to duplicate his 2019 season, he did well to finish 2020 with 341.78 fantasy points in 15 games or 22.79 fantasy points per game. He should be an elite fantasy QB again in 2021 with the upgrades they made at wide receiver this offseason.

At the mid-point of last season, Kyler Murray was on pace to make history as the first QB to ever rush for 1K yards and pass for 4K. He closed the season at 3,971 passing yards and 819 rushing yards. This was due in part to being crushed Week 11 and tweaking his shoulder. The next few weeks, Murray did his best, but he was not 100% healthy. That's the risk/reward of Kyler Murray. At 5'10" and 207 lbs, he doesn't have the same size as Josh Allen, but he plays the same style. It's why I would recommend backing up any investment in him with a solid QB2 on your bench as an insurance policy, even in a single QB league. D'Andre Hopkins was a considerable addition last year, and the two developed fantastic chemistry right away. The inconsistency of the run game and the play-calling created some drastic swings in the offense's productivity. A 4K/1K yard season is certainly within his grasp in 2021, as are 10+ rushing TDs (Murray was 2nd among all QBs with 11 in '20). Last year was a preview of how special Murray can be. Let's hope that Kliff Kingsbury and poor health don't screw it all up again. It would have been impossible for Lamar Jackson to duplicate his lofty 2019 performance of 420 fantasy points. For the first 11 weeks, it seemed like a combination of the league catching up to the Ravens' scheme and the Ravens being cautious with their best weapon. What resulted were lackluster results. After a Week 12 absence, Jackson posted 80 or more rushing yards in 4 of his last five games, where he finished as a QB1 in each of those final five contests. A more confident Lamar Jackson, coming off exercising playoff demons, is one you should be aggressive on in 2021. After all, it is only his fourth year in the league, and he's still an elite fantasy QB.

Kenyon Drake's 58 red zone opportunities and 35% red zone market share have left the building with no proven replacement in sight. Conventional wisdom says RB's Chase Edmonds or James Conner would be the beneficiaries of all of that vacated work, but the more likely result will be Kyler Murray getting more opportunities in the Red Zone than ever before, both with his arm and his legs.Despite the narrative that Lamar Jackson "can't throw" his throws have consistently produced fantasy points. He has ranked 2nd and 11th overall in True Throw Value (a BRoto Fantasy Exclusive Stat that measures a QB's fantasy efficiency through the air) and continues to dominate on the ground. The new era of mobile QBs is here and Jackson is a godfather.
