| Mark Ringo Sleepers and Busts | The Steelers added some pieces which should help their offense in 2023. Veteran Issac Seumalo was signed in free agency and the Steelers moved up to draft Broderick Jones in the first round. Both should help fortify the left side of the line. TE Darnell Washington is a big target who can block. Allen Robinson comes over after a disappointing season in Los Angeles. The Steelers want to use him out of the slot as they did with JuJu Smith-Schuster in the past. Hopefully, he can rekindle some magic from a few years ago. Add in the fact, that Pickett should be more comfortable with the playbook in his second year and there's reason for optimism in the Steel City. However, Pickett only had 10 TDs in about 11.5 games last year. He'll need to make a giant leap to be relevant for fantasy owners in 2023. Alright fantasy owners, now listen to me. This is the last shot that we've got. We're going to run the Pickett fence at them. George (Pickens), you're the swingman. Diontae, you're solo right. | Wolf of Roto Street Roto Street Journal | 5/5: They've surrounded Pickett with some new towers in Darnell Washington & Allen Robinson, alongside George Pickett, Diontae, and Freiermuth already. With his rookie jitters out, I like Pickett to take another step as a sophomore-- he definitely flashed some "the guy" potential. | 6/3: Shredding early OTAs - I like late Mac Stacks a lot in Best Ball 2/8 - Bill O'Brien a sneaky great OC, esp. with his familiarity with Mac. Big hope for a rebound here. |
| Pat Fitzmaurice FantasyPros | The first quarterback taken in the 2022 NFL Draft, Kenny Pickett had mixed results in his rookie season, averaging 184.9 passing yards per game and 6.2 yards per attempt, and throwing more interceptions (9) than touchdowns (7). Pickett did get less interception-prone and sack-prone as the season went on, and he guided the Steelers to victory in his final three starts. We should probably expect more below-average passing numbers from Pickett in 2023, but he offers value as a runner, having run for 237 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie. | After finishing runner-up in the Offensive Rookie of the Year balloting in 2021, Mac Jones regressed slightly in his second NFL season, with slight dips in yards per attempt, completion percentage and TD rate. Jones averaged 214.1 yards per game, with 14 TD passes and 11 INTs in 14 games. Jones offers little value as a runner, and he might already be near his ceiling as a passer. Consider Jones a fantasy backup whose primary value is that he seems entrenched as New England's starter for at least one more season, barring a challenge from young backup Bailey Zappe. |
