Ellis Johnson True North Fantasy Football | Last season without DeAndre Hopkins, Brown was the WR-six. Although that six-week span was with Kyler, Hollywood is the clear top option on this team. Regardless of who is under center, his only competition is Zach Ertz, who is recovering from a severe knee injury, a second-year TE, and two undersized gadget receivers. If Brown can stay healthy he could produce as a high-end WR-two with big play upside. | It's hard to look past how mediocre Sutton's last few campaigns have been. However, he still has flashed the talent that led him to be the 40th pick in the 2018 draft. If you believe Sean Peyton can fix this offense, then there is reason to be excited about Sutton. Sutton fits the prototype that Peyton has leaned on throughout his career, more so than Jerry Jeudy does. Considering he is going as the WR40, making him a relatively cheap option for a player who could find himself as a weekly WR-two if Russell Wilson can return to form. |
Wolf of Roto Street Roto Street Journal | 5/26: Unquestioned No.1 now without Hopkins - avg'ed 10.7 tgts (WR5) & 18.3 FPPG (WR7) without Hopkins to start last year. 5/8: Less questions around Kyler's health + no targets added (but DHop does return) = more upside for Marquise Brown in what's prmised to be a more "vertical" attack in this new regime. Kyler's major health questions make Marquise less appealing despite his huge flashes in 2022 | 2/8 - Payton offers hope to all Broncos, especially the main passing game weapons. Still hesitant to go all in w/ Russ looking so bad, but if anyone can salvage him & this passing game, it's Payton |
Derek Brown FantasyPros | DeAndre Hopkins is gone, which means Marquise Brown could revisit his 2022 early-season usage. In Weeks 1-6, he was the WR7 in fantasy as he saw elite alpha-level love. He had a 26% target share, a 40.5% air yard share, and 2.00 yards per route run. Brown proved up to the task of operating as Arizona's number one receiving option. He was 24th in open rate last year, immediately behind Jakobi Meyers (per ESPN analytics). Brown is a WR2/3 that could revisit WR1 production if Kyler Murray is under center for most of this season. | Courtland Sutton is coming off a disappointing season, but when we peer at deeper efficiency metrics, it's easy to see the problem wasn't him. Sutton dipped to 50th in yards per route run and 65th in fantasy points per route run, while he saw a 23.1% target share (25th). This paints the picture that the blame rests upon Sutton's shoulders until we also see that he was 16th in total route wins and 12th in open rate (per ESPN analytics). Only 72.5% (71st) of his targets were catchable, and he ranked 42nd in target quality rating. With a new head wizard in Sean Payton directing this passing attack, there are reasons to buy in on a big Sutton bounceback in 2023. Sutton was 11th in deep targets and 22nd in red zone targets last year. Sutton is an upside WR3. |
