FantasyPros
For years, it's been Evans' show in Tampa Bay. He's averaged 148 targets over the last four years. He'll now be competing with Chris Godwin and O.J. Howard, who have carved out important roles in the offense. The arrival of Bruce Arians is a positive on the offense as a whole, but the running backs are going to score a lot more points than they did under Dirk Koetter. Evans is a relatively safe pick as a low-end WR1 but his ceiling may not be what it used to beIt was good to see Cooper go to Dallas and get consistent targets as that's something he was missing throughout his time in Oakland. He saw at least five targets in each of his nine games with the Cowboys, while seeing seven or more targets in 7-of-9 games. Because of that, he finished as the No. 4 wide receiver in fantasy from the time he joined them, behind only Antonio Brown, Davante Adams, and Julio Jones. He may not offer the consistency that those guys do, but not many do. Cooper should be on the low-end WR1 radar
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
Can struggle with week-to-week consistency, but he rarely misses a game and has averaged a 79/1220/8 line in his 5 seasons, numbers he's a great bet to reach in this year's Tampa environmentYou have to like what you saw from him in DAL - in 11 games, counting 2 playoff contests, he caught 66 passes for 896 yards and 7 TDs - dealing with heel strain, but apparently it's something he's managed to play through in the past
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Evans has monster upside as always and a better system under Bruce Arians could deliver his best season yet.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Evans has remarkably started his career with five consecutive 1,000 yard seasons. The touchdowns aren't consistent, but fantasy owners can rely on him to post plenty of points once again. The primary concern is that Chris Godwin and O.J. Howard may be good enough cut into his target share a bit, but Evans should still be drafted as a WR1.Cooper has put up some historical numbers to start his career despite playing in an awful offense that refused to throw him the ball. It was no wonder he exploded with a new offense and better quarterback despite learning the playbook on the fly. The ceiling is enormous in his first full season with Dallas but there is also quite a bit of unknown too, particularly his plantar fasciitis.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Evans has been a relatively consistent fantasy force, though his touchdown catches have varied wildly from year-to-year. He'll be in a new offense with Bruce Arians running the show, but that certainly shouldn't be a negative, as Arians' offensive scheme should lead to plenty of production. Although both DeSean Jackson and Adam Humphries are gone, Chris Godwin should take on a larger role. In other words, you should expect Evans to see similar targets and give similar production to last year, making him a strong WR1.Cooper was dynamic after a mid-season trade to the Cowboys and, absent injury concerns, he'd be a solid WR1 this year. But he has battled a foot injury all preseason, which has alternatively been referred to as plantar fasciitis, a strained heel, and a muscle strain. Whatever the injury is, it's clearly still bothering Cooper, and it's unclear if his availability for the Cowboys' first game is questionable. For now, fantasy owners should drop Cooper a few spots in their rankings. But don't let him slip too far absent word that his availability for the regular season is in doubt.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
In 2017, Cooper scored 52% of his fantasy points in just three games (most). In 2018, Cooper scored 52% of his fantasy points in just three games (most). @ScottBarrettDFB Cooper has been dealing with plantar fascia irritation which has caused him to miss practice and the Cowboys last two preseason games. This is something that could linger and affect practice time but should not affect meaningful games. There are ways to get players thru game day. @ProFootballDoc
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Mike Evans is one of the most gifted receivers in the NFL, but he fails to dominate in the red zone the way he should. I think he will have a very good season, but I think Godwin will be the best fantasy wide receiver in Tampa Bay.Cooper was a great addition to the Cowboys passing offense, but he is a little hit or miss in their run-heavy scheme. He is a low-end WR1 that should see a ton of targets in the passing game.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Yes, Coop was a stud with Prescott looking at the surface numbers, but look close and see that it was regular ol' Coop. In 9 games with the Cowboys, Cooper put up single digits 4 times, under 15 7 times, and two monster games where he put up around 35 and 45. The inconsistencies continued.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Amari Cooper's career high in TD's is 7. He's passed 1100 yards once. He's passed 75 catches once. He played 9 games for Dallas and put up FOUR games in which his stat line was less than or equal to 5/36/0. And you want to take him in the third round?
Kyle Yates
The Fantasy Footballers
Mike Evans put up the quietest 1,500 receiving yard season ever last year. He now gets an offensive mastermind in Bruce Arians in as head coach and all indications point to them throwing the ball a ton this season. The running game is shaky, at best, and the defense still has massive holes on that roster. The Bucs are going to air the ball out this season and Mike Evans stands to be the biggest beneficiary. He's an incredible value at his current ADP.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
Mike Evans has never been under 1,000 yards in his 5 year career. The Bucs also traded DeSean Jackson and didn't resign Adam Humphries. It might not seem like a lot, but that's 179 vacated targets. Some of that will go to Howard and Godwin...but some will also go to Evans. I have him projected for 142 targets this season, but I could easily see him going over 150. He had less of a red zone role than I expected last season, but those numbers should rebound in 2019. Evans is a great pick, and his ADP is really nice in the mid to late second round.I love Amari Cooper this season. He's finally out of Oakland, and in a place where he can see consistent volume. Dak Prescott is by no means an elite QB, but he's a big upgrade from Derek Carr. In the 9 games after being traded last season Cooper averaged 6/80/0.67. He was used in all areas of the field, and he showed his weekly upside with 2 games over 180 yards and 2 scores. He did all of this after being traded in the middle of the season. Receivers usually struggle when they change teams during an offseason, so the fact that he was able to produce right away is incredible. After a full Summer to train with the team, I expect Cooper to have some monster games this season. I'd be very excited to get Cooper in the third round. That's the point in the draft where you should have locked up two stud skill position players already. So capturing the weekly upside of Cooper on top of that is a no brainer.
