FantasyPros
Not only was he worthy of a first-round pick last year, but there are now question marks surrounding the No. 1 receiver on his team that could boost his targets to even higher heights. Not that he needs them, as his 150 targets were tied for fourth all-time among tight ends. Kelce gives you consistency and predictability at a very unpredictable position and an advantage every week. If you want to take him at the end of the first-round or beginning of the second-round, you shouldFor years, it's been Evans' show in Tampa Bay. He's averaged 148 targets over the last four years. He'll now be competing with Chris Godwin and O.J. Howard, who have carved out important roles in the offense. The arrival of Bruce Arians is a positive on the offense as a whole, but the running backs are going to score a lot more points than they did under Dirk Koetter. Evans is a relatively safe pick as a low-end WR1 but his ceiling may not be what it used to be
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Kelce is in the best system and is has high volume and elite TD upside. He's entrenched in my #1 spot at tight end.Evans has monster upside as always and a better system under Bruce Arians could deliver his best season yet.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Kelce scored the most fantasy points of any tight end in the last five seasons last year. He may shatter that clip this season and approach Gronk's enormous 2017 total of 331 PPR points if Tyreek Hill were to suffer an injury.. Kelce wasn't far off at 295 last year. If he can jump another 40 points, we'd be looking at the WR1 if he qualified for that possession. Kelce is absolutely worth a top 20 pick this year.Evans has remarkably started his career with five consecutive 1,000 yard seasons. The touchdowns aren't consistent, but fantasy owners can rely on him to post plenty of points once again. The primary concern is that Chris Godwin and O.J. Howard may be good enough cut into his target share a bit, but Evans should still be drafted as a WR1.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
What more can owners ask of Kelce, who has finished as the tip tight end and totaled at least 1,000 yards receiving in three straight seasons. You want a negative? With Tyreek Hill set to avoid suspension, Kelce won't see the likely uptick in targets he otherwise would have. Fantasy owners will have to settle for just having the best tight end in the game put up his usual dominant stat line. Buy with confidence, obviously, and draft him as a borderline first-rounder.Evans has been a relatively consistent fantasy force, though his touchdown catches have varied wildly from year-to-year. He'll be in a new offense with Bruce Arians running the show, but that certainly shouldn't be a negative, as Arians' offensive scheme should lead to plenty of production. Although both DeSean Jackson and Adam Humphries are gone, Chris Godwin should take on a larger role. In other words, you should expect Evans to see similar targets and give similar production to last year, making him a strong WR1.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
He's the new, more durable Gronk (just 1 DNP in past 5 seasons) - matchup nightmare, lethal QB connectionCan struggle with week-to-week consistency, but he rarely misses a game and has averaged a 79/1220/8 line in his 5 seasons, numbers he's a great bet to reach in this year's Tampa environment
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Kelce had 1,336 yards receiving and 10 receiving touchdowns in 2018. Considering the quality and youth of the Chiefs offense, Kelce should continue to put up monster numbers in 2019.Mike Evans is one of the most gifted receivers in the NFL, but he fails to dominate in the red zone the way he should. I think he will have a very good season, but I think Godwin will be the best fantasy wide receiver in Tampa Bay.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Big time advantage at TE if you draft Kelce. I would prefer to draft a RB/WR in the first round, but cannot argue with Kelce in the second.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
According to True Target Value, a pass Mahomes to Kelce on the road resulted in more expected fantasy points than any other combo in the NFL. There's no reason to think that the young studs are going to slow down this season, especially with Hill still around to stretch the field.
Kyle Yates
The Fantasy Footballers
If Tyreek Hill misses this season from his pending suspension, Kelce stands to be the biggest benefactor. A huge factor in the receiving game in the league's most dynamic passing offense, Kelce's a no-brainer of a pick at the Tight End position. Currently, I have no issue with taking Kelce at the back end of the 1st round due to the positional advantage he brings.Mike Evans put up the quietest 1,500 receiving yard season ever last year. He now gets an offensive mastermind in Bruce Arians in as head coach and all indications point to them throwing the ball a ton this season. The running game is shaky, at best, and the defense still has massive holes on that roster. The Bucs are going to air the ball out this season and Mike Evans stands to be the biggest beneficiary. He's an incredible value at his current ADP.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
There is a very real case to be made in drafting Kelce in the first round this season. A big part of that decision is going to come down to the potential suspension of Tyreek Hill. If Hill isn't suspended, then he should be taken in the early second round. If he is though, I'd highly consider drafting Kelce in the late first round. My current projections have Hill being suspended for a majority of the season (although recent news makes this less likely than it was before). In this set of projections, Kelce is projected to outscore the next best TE by 50 half PPR points. That sort of weekly advantage over your opponent is absolutely massive, and is something that can be the difference maker between a playoff team, and a championship team.Mike Evans has never been under 1,000 yards in his 5 year career. The Bucs also traded DeSean Jackson and didn't resign Adam Humphries. It might not seem like a lot, but that's 179 vacated targets. Some of that will go to Howard and Godwin...but some will also go to Evans. I have him projected for 142 targets this season, but I could easily see him going over 150. He had less of a red zone role than I expected last season, but those numbers should rebound in 2019. Evans is a great pick, and his ADP is really nice in the mid to late second round.
