Andrew Erickson FantasyPros | Treylon Burks dealt with numerous injuries throughout his rookie campaign but showed flashes of WR1 ability from Week 10 onward. In his final six healthy games played, Burks led the Titans in targets and receiving yards. He earned 6-plus targets in all but two games and eclipsed 66-plus receiving yards in half the contests. In the 3 games started with Ryan Tannehill Weeks 10-12, Burks was very productive. Team-high 21% target share, 11.5 PPR points per game and 2.56 yards per route run. With the 2022 TEN leaders in overall targets and red-zone target - Robert Woods, Austin Hopper - gone from the roster, Burks should see ample opportunities in his second year for volume and TDs. | |
Ellis Johnson True North Fantasy Football | I'll be honest, I was not in on Burks last season. However, when he played I was pleasantly surprised with what he managed to do with mediocre QB play. Despite being riddled with injuries and asthma issues, Burks managed to show splashes of deep play ability. The Titans are stuck with Tannehill for at least another year, and we saw that he was able to support A.J. Brown. Not that Burks is Brown, but he should find himself with enough volume to be a weekly WR-three play. | I'm very surprised that Bateman is projected to be the third WR on this team. Obviously, the team brought in first-round WR Zay Flowers and Odell Beckham Jr. this offseason, but that was it. How quickly we forget that Bateman is a first-round talent himself and projected to be more of a typical WR-one option than the smaller Zay Flowers. We also haven't seen OBJ play in two years, and I am buying into the passing production of this offense. As a result, give me all of Bateman for the 2023 season. |
Derek Brown FantasyPros | Treylon Burks is staring down a sophomore season with tons of opportunities at his disposal to put his disappointing rookie season in the past. Burks saw a 17.6% target share last season while ranking 35th in air-yard share and 32nd in yards per route run. While none of these numbers will inspire confidence in Burks entering year two, his 17th-ranked route win rate and 24th-ranked open rate (tied with Marquise Brown, per ESPN analytics) should. Burks enters the offseason with only Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Kyle Philips, and Chigoziem Okonkwo to compete for targets in 2023. Burks falls in the WR3/4 bucket, but he could easily crush that expectation. | Rashod Bateman looked like a receiver on his way to a breakout campaign before his season was derailed by a foot sprain in Week 4 and ultimately ended in Week 8 with a LisFranc injury. In Weeks 1-3, he was the WR34 in fantasy points per game with an 18.8% target share, a 30.3% air yard share, and 3.14 yards per route run. Bateman was also only a 72.7% route per dropback player in that stretch. Bateman's talent is real, but he needs his health to comply. This could be a breaking point season. The team signed Odell Beckham Jr. and drafted Zay Flowers in the first round of the NFL Draft. This will be the best collection of weapons Lamar Jackson has ever had, but that also means it's the most competition for targets Bateman has dealt with during his time in Baltimore. Bateman has the talent to still emerge as the number one receiver in this offense and compete weekly for the team lead in targets with Mark Andrews. He's a WR3/4 that could easily finish as a WR2. |
Wolf of Roto Street Roto Street Journal | 5/8: No real competition added in draft, faces minimal interference for true WR1 duties after some impressive glimpses during his rookie season. Glimpses of studliness could become a full season's worth in 2023 | 5/8: Odell and now Zay Flowers have joined. While it's nice to have Lamar & a pass-happier coordinator join, Bateman now could be 4th on the targets totem pole (Andrews, Flowers, OBJ), giving him a tough outlook for 2023 3/7: Should benefit from pass-happier Ravens attack under Monken (although discord with him + DeCosta isn't a great look right now) |
