Mike Tagliere
FantasyPros
With new additions of DeSean Jackson, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, and Miles Sanders, you have to wonder if Ertz loses of his (tight end) record of 156 targets he saw in 2018. You also have Dallas Goedert coming into his second season after an impressive rookie campaign. Still, it's rare to find a tight end who can average 8-10 targets per game, making Ertz worthy of a pick in the top three roundsWhen drafting a running back in the third- or fourth-round, it's likely they're going to be the No. 2 running back on your fantasy team, and Mack was ideal for that role, until Andrew Luck suddenly retired, putting the whole Colts offense in a different realm. Because of the downgrade to Jacoby Brissett, Mack should be considered an RB3 who does still play behind one of the top offensive lines in the league.
Brandon Funston
The Athletic
Career-high targets in '18 was 40+ more than his previous best - with Jeffery healthy, the backfield much improved, D-Jax now in the mix and backup TE Goedert pushing for more time, Ertz could revert back to previous target levelsHe's in line to push 20 touches per game for what should still be a decent offenses despite loss of QB Luck - was No. 11 RB in half-PPR PPG in '18, and closed out final 5 games (inc. playoffs) with 5 TDs and avg. of 101 YFS
Kevin Roberts
Breaking Football
Ertz is my preferred PPR option at tight end, but has less scoring upside than Kelce. He's my 1B to K elce's 1B, though, so you can't really go wrong.Does the Andrew Luck news help or hurt him? I'm leaning in a negative fashion, but he's still a dynamic back with nice upside. I'll just be looking elsewhere for the most part.
Bobby Sylvester
FantasyPros
Ertz was spectacular again last season, even outscoring George Kittle in his record-breaking season. There is no doubt that Ertz will produce as long as he stays on the field, and especially with Carson Wentz back. With that said, it seems unlikely that Kittle will catch just 5 touchdowns this season with Jimmy G throwing passes so for now, Ertz sits at the end of that first tier of tight ends. Now that Andrew Luck is retired, most expect Mack to be on the wrong end of negative game scripts, but the Colts have insisted that he will be on the field on third downs like he was as a rookie. If that is the case, Mack still has RB1 potential to go with a safe floor thanks to an incredible offensive line ahead of him.
Derek Lofland
FantasyPros
Ertz had another monster season at tight end with 1,163 yards and 8 receiving touchdowns. He can be counted on to be one of the best tight ends in the NFL in 2019.Mack missed four of the first five games due to injuries, but still managed 908 rushing yards, 4.7 YPC and nine TDs. He is playing behind an emerging offensive line and he should be a low-end RB2 in 2019, even without QB Andrew Luck.
Rich Piazza
Fantasy Shed
There's no question that everybody on the Colts offense, including the running backs, are going to take some kind of a hit with the Andrew Luck retirement. Mack will get enough usage, and is talented enough, to still finish as a RB2.
Dan Harris
FantasyPros
Ertz saw a preposterous 156 targets last year, which led to 116 catches for 1,163 yards and eight touchdowns. He almost certainly will see a meaningful drop in targets this year with the addition of DeSean Jackson and with a healthy Darren Sproles. But he can give away plenty of targets and still finish as an easy top-three tight end. Draft him with confidence early.Andrew Luck's sudden retirement changes the equation for Mack, but probably not as much as you'd expect. He'll still run behind an elite offensive line and excellent system. Yes, Jacoby Brissett as the quarterback marks a huge downgrade for the entire offense. But the Colts may try to lean on Mack a bit more than they otherwise would have, and he may able to make up a downgrade in efficiency with an uptick in touches. Drop Mack a few spots, but still consider him an RB2.
Jason Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
Ertz saw 156 targets last season but the Eagles added Arcega-Whiteside, DJax, Sanders, and Howard. Geodert also has another year in the system and is expected to have a larger role. - In the first 8 games last season Ertz had ONE game with less than 8 targets - In the final 8 games, Ertz had FIVE games with 8 or less targets - The three years before last he had 112, 106, and 110 targets, 75, 78, and 74 catches, and 853, 816, and 824 yards, respectively. It's unlikely he matches last season's numbers so his ADP is too high for my taste. He will definitely provide solid and reliable numbers though.I am not going to draft Mack at all this season. I don't understand how a guy with so many flaws is being drafted in the third/fourth round. Mack doesn't catch passes, he's not dynamic enough to break off big runs, and is entirely useless in games where the Colts are trailing. He's a TD-dependent RB2 being drafted as much more.
Michael Petropoulos
BRoto Fantasy
The ADP is a bit odd to me. Yes, he is on a tremendous offense and is the lead back, but he does not have a role in the passing game and will be TD dependent in games where his yardage total is not high. He is similar to Sony Michel, who I just wrote an article about (brotofantasy.com) saying not to draft. Mack had less than 40 total yards in 5 of the 11 games he played in last season and 7 of his 9 TDs came from outside of those games.
Kyle Yates
The Fantasy Footballers
Ertz put up unreal reception numbers last season and showed everyone that he's a fantasy force to be reckoned with. However, the Eagles added other weapons this offseason, which could take away some of Ertz's overall target numbers. With that being said, there's no reason to expect a drastic drop-off in production. Ertz is a safe pick at the TE position and should be the next player off the board after Travis Kelce.
Nick Zylak
Fantasy Football Advice
Julie Ertz's husband set the single season record for receptions by a TE last year. That's the sort of upside he brings to the table. This season, I expect him to regress a bit on those numbers. DeSean Jackson was brought in, and I expect him to command at least a small target share. Alshon also appeared in just 13 games, and Dallas was a rookie TE. Assuming Alshon remains healthy, and Goedert sees the sophomore TE bump, Zach is going to see less targets. He's still an elite option, but he's absolutely behind Kelce for the top TE, and I have him behind Kittle as well. My current projection has him with 96/950/6. That sort of stat line makes him a good pick in the mid third round. Unfortunately, he's been routinely going in the late second. That's a bit too early for me.Mack finished last season with 4/12 games over 115 rushing yards. He's going to be the lead back in a high powered offense, so there's plenty of upside with this pick. Before you get too excited, there are still some negatives with Mack. He was 30th in yards per carry after contact, 33rd in breakaway percentage, 38th in yards created per carry, 54th in elusiveness rating and 55th in juke rate. When it comes down to it, even if Mack isn't as talented as we might think he is, opportunity matters infinitely more than talent. Mack is going to get a lot of opportunity on an elite offense. So makes him a good pick. I won't be going out of my way to target him, since Hines eats into his receiving upside. However, I'm not afraid to take him where he's going.
Kevin Wheeler
Draftwize
Marlon Mack had four games with 125 or more rushing yards in the regular season or post season, tying him with Saquon Barkley and Ezekiel Elliot for tops in the league, no other running back had more than two.
