Texans GM Nick Caserio said Tank Dell is improving after suffering a “minor” gunshot wound. (Source: SportsRadio 610 on YouTube)

Fantasy Impact: Dell suffered a minor wound after he was shot in Florida last week. He was released from the hospital. Dell is also working his way back from a fractured fibula that ended his season early last year.

Laremy Tunsil underwent successful arthroscopic knee surgery. (Source: Aaron Wilson on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Tunsil had been dealing with a nagging injury for most of last season. He is expected to make full and fast recovery for next year.

Texans WR Robert Woods is officially inactive for a Week 18 matchup with the Colts.

Fantasy Impact: Woods was listed as questionable with a hip injury and will not suit up in the Texans’ regular season finale. With Noah Brown also ruled out, fantasy managers should expect Nico Collins, Xavier Hutchinson, and John Metchie to lead the Texans’ receiving group in a pivotal game with the Colts.

Will Anderson Jr. (ankle) is questionable ahead of Saturday's game against the Colts. (Source: Aaron Wilson on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Anderson is expected to be ready to go against the Colts on Saturday night. The rookie pass rusher missed Week 15 and 16 before returning to record two sacks in this past Sunday's win over the Titans.

Houston Texans WR Noah Brown has been ruled out for the regular season finale AFC South showdown due to a back injury. (Source: Houston Texans on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: In a season that has seen Brown be productive over certain stretches (three games of 80+ yards), it has also been marred by injuries that have cost him most of the year. Brown will end his year with just 10 games played, totaling 33 catches for 567 yards in those games. This sets up WR Nico Collins for a potential smash game against a favorable defense.

Houston Texans QB C.J. Stroud is speaking with the media on Thursday, an indication he has been removed from the league's concussion protocol. (Source: DJ Bien-Aime on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: It was reported earlier on Thursday that Stroud was in the final stage of the protocol, but he was able to graduate, setting himself up for a return in Week 17. Stroud also practiced on Wednesday, logging a limited session. He will likely return to face division rival Tennessee, a team they beat without Stroud under the veteran Case Keenum's guidance (1-1 in two starts).

Nico Collins was a limited participant at practice on Wednesday. (Source: Houston Texans on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Collins caught four passes for 18 yards and a touchdown in his return last week. He will hold more appeal if C.J. Stroud (concussion) is able to return under center.

Houston Texans LB Denzel Perryman, who is dealing with an Achilles injury, is expected to be available for Week 16. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Perryman will be a go against the Cleveland Browns, a team that has become somewhat surprisingly pass-happy under a rejuvenated Joe Flacco. Perryman has 61 tackles and a half-sack in nine games, missing a few due to injury and a pair due to suspension. He'll man the middle of the field at home.

Blake Cashman (hamstring) will miss Week 15's matchup with the Titans. (Source: Aaron Wilson on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Cashman is in the midst of a solid campaign for the Texans, so this is a definite blow to their defense. The fifth-year linebacker has racked up a team-high 87 total tackles across 12 games this season.

Tavierre Thomas (hamstring) will miss Sunday's game against the Titans. (Source: Aaron Wilson on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Thomas sustained a hamstring injury during this past Sunday's loss to the Jets. The veteran DB missed more than a month earlier this season due to a broken hand. Now, he will miss his fifth game of the campaign due to injury.

Dalton Schultz practiced again on Thursday. (Source: Aaron Wilson on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Schultz appears to be trending towards returning on Sunday after he was sidelined the past two weeks. With Nico Collins (calf) potentially sidelined, it could open up more targets for Schultz.

Ka'imi Fairbairn has been designated to return to practice. (Source: Jonathan M Alexander on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Fairbairn is expected to return this week with the Texans' releasing Matt Ammendola. He likely won't be too reliable from a fantasy perspective with the Texans offense banged up.

Tytus Howard is expected to undergo surgery and will be out for the season. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Howard injured his knee last Sunday and will have to undergo surgery after undergoing further testing. It is a pretty significant blow to the Texans offensive line.

Houston Texans RB Dameon Pierce, who was deemed questionable to play in Week 12 with an ailing ankle, is expected to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. (Source: Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: In an important divisional matchup between two playoff hopefuls, the Texans RB could be back from his three-game hiatus. Pierce has struggled this year, rushing for just three yards per carry with zero games of 4+ YPC. RB Devin Singletary has stood out in Pierce's stead, but the two are expected to share splits when both are healthy. To what degree remains to be seen, but Singletary feels like the better fantasy play, though his week lacks confidence with Pierce's return.

John Metchie III (ribs) was a full participant in Houston's practice on Wednesday. (Source: Houston Texans on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Metchie was listed on Wednesday's practice report with an injury to his ribs, but it isn't serious and he was still able to log a full practice. He has fallen down the depth chart this year, so fantasy managers can confidently leave him on the waiver wire for the foreseeable future.

Kendrick Green has a knee injury and will be out indefinitely. (Source: DJ Bien-Aime)

Fantasy Impact: Green is dealing with a torn meniscus that he suffered in Sunday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. It's a pretty serious injury, and he will be sidelined indefinitely. This is a tough blow for C.J. Stroud, Dameon Pierce, and the Texans' offense as a whole, who were already down several key lineman before Week 4.

Texans DB Jalen Pitre is officially inactive for the team’s Week 3 matchup against Jacksonville.

Fantasy Impact: Pitre will miss another game after not logging any practice time due to a chest injury. The Texans’ defense will have Jimmie Ward returning to his safety spot, which should help the secondary deal with the loss of Pitre.

Derek Stingley Jr. placed on IR

By TJ Taylor

The Texans have placed CB Derek Stingley Jr. on the Reserve/Injured list ahead of their matchup against Jacksonville. (Source: Houston Texans on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The talented CB out of LSU is expected to miss significant time with a hamstring injury. Stingley played only in 9 games last season, so it is unfortunate to see him get hit with another injury.

Jimmie Ward (hip) returned to Texans' practice Wednesday. (Source: Aaron Wilson on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Ward has yet to make his regular-season debut for his new team, but the veteran DB took a big step toward changing that with his presence at Wednesday's practice session. Ward has spent all of his previous nine years in the league with San Francisco. He will certainly be a welcome addition to the Texans' secondary heading into a matchup with the Jaguars' passing attack.

Texans RB Dare Ogunbowale is officially inactive for the team’s Week 1 matchup with Baltimore.

Fantasy Impact: Ogunbowale was limited in practice this week due to a hamstring injury. Fantasy managers should leave the veteran on the waiver wire.
