Broncos DST finishes 2016 season with strong performance

by Blake Glosson | Broncos Correspondent | Mon, Jan 2nd 3:02am EST

The Broncos DST allowed just six points, 221 total yards and 11 first downs against Oakland in Week 17. They also forced three turnovers and sacked Connor Cook twice.

Fantasy Impact:

The Broncos' defense had to be licking their chops when the Raiders came into Denver without QB Derek Carr, who broke his leg in Week 16. And by the end of the first half on Sunday, the Raiders were playing with third-string rookie QB Connor Cook, after Matt McGloin injured his shoulder late in the second quarter. Needless to say, it didn't turn out particularly well for the suddenly-impotent Oakland offense. The Broncos will finish the 2016-2017 regular season as a top-ten DST in most fantasy leagues, and they will likely be one of the first DSTs off the board again in 2017 fantasy drafts.
