Moreno no lock to make Dolphins roster

Knowshon Moreno (RB - FA)

After showing up to OTAs overweight and undergoing off-season knee surgery, NFL.com's Gregg Rosenthal included Moreno on a list of six veterans he believes are fighting for their jobs heading into 2014 training camp. Miami signed Moreno to a 1 year, $3 million contract with $1.25 million guaranteed earlier this off-season. Their modest financial commitment to the veteran runner likely means he is still afforded a fair shot to make the roster, however he appears to have lost his grip on the starting job for the time being. Fantasy Impact
Moreno was never likely to duplicate his excellent 2013 numbers in any other offensive setting, however as a starter in another offense he was still worth a look in fantasy. After a slew of negative off-season news and a knee injury to boot, Moreno has now conceded the top spot on the Dolphins running back depth chart to Lamar Miller. Moreno should still see work on passing downs as the superior blocking and receiving option, however fantasy owners considering drafting Moreno should exercise caution.
