LeGarrette Blount uncertain of his future in New England

by Anthony Cervino | Sat, Feb 11th 3:30pm EST

New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount told the media he is uncertain about his future with the club. “I don’t know what the future holds," Blount said via the Rich Eisen Show. "That’s something for them and my agent to discuss. I love being here, and they know I love being here. ... I feel great. I’m 30 years old, not a lot of wear and tear on my body. I feel like I’ll be able to play for as long as I want.” (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

Blount, who is an impending free agent, will likely have the opportunity to test the open market. He is coming off of a career year in 2016 in which he accumulated 1,161 yards rushing and 18 touchdowns while playing in all 16 games. If Blount intends to remain with the Patriots, he'll likely have to give them a hometown discount to stay. However, his monster season could have very well earned him a big payday on the open market in what could be his final contract as a pro for the 30-year-old rusher.
