New York Jets beat writer Rich Cimini believes the New York Jets will retain running back Matt Forte for the 2017 season. "Forte is staying," Cimini said via his personal Twitter account while responding to a fan's question. (RIch Cimini on Twitter)

Forte, 31, will likely remain with the Jets next season, according to Cimini. The dual-threat running back played in 14 games in 2016 while totaling 1,076 yards and eight touchdowns. Despite his age, he is expected to retain the starting job in New York's backfield. However, he'll continue to cede touches to Bilal Powell as he did last season.
