Paul Perkins could be Giants' starter in 2017

Paul Perkins (RB - FA)

James Kratch of NJ.com believes Paul Perkins is the "clear-cut No. 1 running back" on the New York Giants entering the 2017 season. (NJ.com)

Fantasy Impact
Now that the Giants released Rashad Jennings on Monday, Perkins is in line to start in 2017, barring the team making any personnel changes at running back in the offseason. However, I wouldn't rule out New York bringing in a veteran rusher via free agency, especially with the notable names that will likely be available. Eddie Lacy and LeGarrette Blount are both impending free agents while Adrian Peterson could be on his way out of Minnesota despite currently being under contract. All three of those backs could certainly add quality depth and production to a Giants backfield that struggled to run the football throughout the course of the 2016 campaign.
