Ty Montgomery deemed Packers' top running back

Despite selecting Jamaal Williams on day three of the NFL Draft Saturday, McCarthy reiterated that Montgomery will remain the Packers' starting running back for 2017. However, Williams' presence is a lot more threatening to Montgomery's workload than Christine Michael or Don Jackson is. Green Bay's fourth-round pick led BYU in rushing since his freshman campaign, and if he remains healthy, he could challenge Montgomery for early-down touches. Still, view Montgomery as an RB2 entering fantasy draft season, but keep a close eye on Williams' progression as Week 1 approaches.
