Odell Beckham Jr. holding out for new deal?

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr's absence from OTAs is "directly related to his desire" for a new deal. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Although no one from his camp has confirmed it, per Schefter, Beckham's absence from voluntary workouts is directly correlated to his desire to negotiate a new deal with the Giants. The fourth-year wideout does have room to be irritable, though. He is currently slated to earn roughly $1.9 million in 2017 and is vastly underpaid compared to his production since entering the league in 2014. Yes, he is playing under his rookie deal, but his 288-4,122-35 stat line while averaging 14.3 YPC garners a dramatic increase in his salary. However, I'm not sure Beckham has very much leverage, if any, at all. Rather than entering his walk year in 2017, the Giants exercised the receiver's fifth-year option retaining his rights through the 2018 campaign. His lone option is to hold out, which will garner fines if he is absent from any mandatory sessions for the remainder of the offseason. Despite the rumblings, expect Beckham to be on the field for Week 1 of the upcoming season.
