Mathews suffers knee injury; carted off the field

Ryan Mathews (RB - FA)

According to Eric Williams of ESPN, Charger RB Ryan Mathews suffered an apparent knee injury at the beginning of the 4th quarter against Seattle. He is scheduled for an MRI on Monday and Charger officials are concerned Mathews could have a sprained MCL. Mathews, up until the injury, had 11 carries for 31 yards. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact
The injury-prone RB could potentially be lost for the season in a contract year. Last year was the first season in Mathews' career in which he played in all 16 games. Now RBs Danny Woodhead and Donald Brown will be the key ball carriers for the time being.
