Gary Barnidge 'waiting' for Ravens?

by Anthony Cervino | Fri, Jul 7th 9:06am EDT

NFL.com is reporting free agent tight end Gary Barnidge is in no hurry to sign with a club, despite visiting with the Buffalo Bills last month. Reports suggest the veteran tight end is "waiting" to see if the Baltimore Ravens are interested in his services for the 2017 season. "They have to call my agent. They know who to call and who to contact and all of that stuff," Barnidge said Thursday. "I just know we haven't heard anything yet, which is fine. I am in no hurry. I'm staying in shape. I'm ready, I'll be ready when that call comes. I'm in no rush right now." (NFL.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Barnidge, who was released by the Browns in late April, remains an unsigned free agent. However, he's not lingering on the open market because he's garnered no interest -- he visited with the Bills last month. He's reportedly waiting to see if the right opportunity will come around as he is in the twilight of his career. Barnidge, 31, will turn 32 in September and is nearing the end of the line. He likely wants to play for a contender, or at least for a team, like the Ravens, who have a chance to compete.
