NFL Network's IanRapoport is reporting Minnesota Vikings running back Latavius Murray (ankle) will open training camp on the active/ PUP list. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Rapoport believes Murray is entering camp on the PUP list for "precautionary" reasons. Upon his return, he is expected to compete with Dalvin Cook for the role of the Vikings' RB1 job for the 2017 season. However, if Cook emerges on top, I'd fully expect Murray to assume the role of the team's short yardage/ goal line back.
