Doug Martin not guaranteed the starting job in 2017

Doug Martin (RB - FA)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers general manager Jason Licht told the media running back Doug Martin "was looking good so far in camp and that the team is happy with the way he's handling things, but his job might not be there for him come Week 4." (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact
It appears that Martin is not a lock to emerge as the Buccaneers starting running back upon his Week 4 return after all. The veteran rusher will serve the final three games of his four game ban to open the 2017 season. Although Tampa Bay brass supported and praised Martin this offseason, reports suggest Jacquizz Rodgers could out-seat the troubled rusher for the top spot on the depth chart if he performs well in the former's absence. Rodgers is the favorite to enter 2017 as the team's RB1.
