Jonathan Williams the favorite to enter 2017 as Bills RB2?

Buffalo Bills beat writer Joe Buscaglia is reporting the team is giving Jonathan Williams "every opportunity" to win the No. 2 running back job in 2017. "The Bills have shown a lot of confidence in Jonathan Williams publicly," Buscaglia said Sunday. "He'll get every opportunity to win that job. It's on him now." (Joe Buscaglia on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

It appears the role of the Bills' RB2 is Williams' to lose, per reports, which comes to no surprise. The Bills barely addressed the running back position this offseason despite losing Mike Gillislee to the Patriots in free agency, only adding aging veteran Mike Tolbert as well as unknown players that include Joe Baynard and Cedric O'Neal to the depth chart. With McCoy just turning 29 on July 12, Williams could have a significant role as the RB2 in an attempt to protect the starter's longevity. Williams is worth a late-round flier at his current RB53 ADP.
